I've briefly tried mesh coils over the years and never liked them. I always got some sort of metal taste in the vape even after scorching it with a mini torch. I used cotton wicks for years and finally tried Rayon ... I'm sold on it.

I'm sure there are many better tanks for MTL, but I'm still sold on the Kayfun 2 and the Beserker MTL RTA.

One of the worst experiences I had with mesh was a tank that I can't remember the name of. The mesh had to be rolled into a cylinder and the wire wrapped around the cylinder. I never got it to produce anything resembling good flavor. I"m sure I did it wrong, but it's in a box in the closet somewhere today.

Simple is usually better for me. That means an SS316L single coil with a rayon wick. It suits my MTL vaping style just fine.

I use the same build except for DL lol!

So with 4th of July sales i wanted to buy something for my daughter and i. I got myself a Fireluke mesh tank and even a $10 resin expansion tank. After trying both coils with the tank and even ordering another box, hoping that was just a bad batch, and trying other compatible coils i still HATE this flavorless tank. I've heard mostly great things about it but yuck! So, anybody have luck selling their stuff they just didn't like or am i stuck looking at a pretty tank that i won't use?

I think I got my fire luke from eight Vape also I Vape menthol and have good flavor with it from the start

Missing out plus money wasted is why I hate seeing people give up early. But there are times only you can know that something is just that bad. And that's with rebuildables, there's not much you can do with drop in coils.

I think in VW (I haven't used it in a long time) flooding can be a lack of vapor and flavor. Lack of liquid would be dry hit. I'm not sure what clouds and lack of flavor would be unless the flavors you were using take a long time to take over that much wick (I don't have one but it looks like they have a lot of cotton).

Flooding can be caused by lots of things. If the juice is too thin for the coil, if it gets to warm, just a plain ol' bunk coil, or the coil not being seated properly can all cause flooding. Oh and priming too much can definitely cause a coil to flood. It seems to me that lack of flavor happens when there is a bunch of cotton or if the cotton is wrapped super tightly, which can definitely also cause dry hits. It amazes me when I get one that just doesn't have the flavor I am looking for. Sometimes it's just a bad batch, but I've tried to power through multiple coils in some tanks and never got good flavor. I guess that's why I stick to ceramic or hybrid ceramic coils as closely as possible, but I'm definitely not opposed to trying new things when it comes to vaping. Sure beats the clearomizers from the olden days, lol!

I like the GT coils, too! I tried a box of the mesh ones but went right back to the ceramic. The mesh ones were okay for me, but still not quite there.

Can you explain to me "good". How is the flavor before that time? Is it horrible, like vaping straight cotton and metal? I'm just trying to figure out if what I'm experiencing is normal.

I break the coil in slowly, the flavor is ok for a tank or two. I get to my preferred wattage and the flavor is very, very good.

Thanks for the replies y'all. I guess I really won't know why I really don't like it. The coils or the tank. I'm thinking the tank itself because while I did get more flavor from the uforce coils it still wasn't really satisfactory. I got plenty of cloud, but I couldn't care less about cloud when it come to choosing between cloud and taste. I might have somebody that wants to buy it though. He almost bought one at a local shop for $45! Wow, really? If not I'll either give it away at some point or try again later.

I got a uforce since that's what my son is using and I like his, and I can try the mesh coils that I have sitting in a baggy again if I decide to give it another try. I used these coils in the fireluke tank and while the flavor was better than the mesh it was still very muted. So far, just getting through maybe 2 mL of the juice in the uforce I am getting great flavor. Really was right off the bat, but still getting better. I'm convinced it was more the tank than the coils. I'll give those mesh a coils a shot in this once this one is ready to be changed and see how they do in a different tank.

My son's friend is visiting and loves the damn thing! Gah, why can't I love it? It is so pretty. Oh well, at least I get to see it used. I really think it might have to do with the type of juice. He vapes sweet fruits and I vape deserts, cookies, etc. I made him some blue raz slushie so we tried that in there and even on a new coil without time to break it in it is starting to come through with the flavor.

I wonder if his draw is different then yours and the design of the tanks fits his style
