there was a ProVari clone ... the PloVari

basically just another cheap chinese knockoff ... however, lacking the magical ProVape chip.

Fauxvari.

Haha I don't think those affected sales one bit.

I have high respect for my 2011 model Provari V2. It's a good vape, constructed of satin finished stainless steel, and it's built like a good firearm.

It was good when variable voltage was king. When power and TC modes first hit the market there was no Provari with those features, so I bought a Koopor Plus 200W and branched out from there into other brands with features and low prices.

Market timing, price, and features (not necessarily in that order) led to the demise of Provape. They've obviously seen the future with FDA deeming and decided not to compete with Chinese hardware.

That said, my Provari V2 is still as good as it was on day one. It still just does VV, though. The Koopor Plus 200W died about a year ago and I branched out into various other "too cheap to pass up" deals.

Then, there was the eleaf istick Pico 75W for $21. I use that one every day. Price is a concern when you are stocking up for hard times ahead in the vaping world. More hardware is better when there's a concern about expensive FDA pre-market applications taking away choice by 2019.

1187 Hundertwasser
Tube mech
Authentic = $150+
Clone - $20
Easy choice, it's a metal tube and a switch.

RDA
Authentic - $50+
Clone - $10
Not so easy a choice, depends on the device. I will often test with a clone, and then buy the authentic in the hope that the quality is better if it's a sound design but the quality lacks. This also supports innovation by the authentic designers.

Box mod
The price difference is usually going to be marginal, generally just not worth it.

Premade coil heads.
Don't be silly

You see it all the time.

It seems you took it personally.
It's a just vape company.

You should slow down and stop inferring emotion onto an internet post

Nothing I posted above was incorrect or opinion, just the facts as posted by Provape themselves.

Provape and Reo have strangely fanatical follwers who view anything unflattering as blasphemy whether true or not.
It's very odd and IMHO, one of the reasons for the fall of both

.
nothing personal my friend , it's just that imo there are not many devices that are built better then a provari .

True, but in the current climate, more is better. Buy a few Provaris and a lot of good China mods for long term backup.
Personally I have only had a few provari's , a v1, a v2, and a radius. The two tubes I liked because there just wasn't that many vv devices at the time and once the dna 20 chip came out I never used either provari's again. I did buy a radius but seem to reach for my lighter and slightly smaller boxes these days. So I'm not really a provari kind if guy. I know they could of done things differently and perhaps been more popular by keeping with the times but one thing I would have to say is that they are a quality, well made device and I don't think that's even disputable. You can say alot of things about provape but one thing for sure is that they made quality mods .

True, when you compare most China mods to a Provari, it's like a Saturday Night Special next to a Glock. Threads wear out over time, connections aren't always gold plated, and a drop usually results in a dent. That said, the price to performance ratio is good. You can buy half a dozen Chinese VV/VW/TC mods for $200.

Bad anaolgy.

"Saturday night special" was a media buzz word used to describe small, snub nosed, concealable revolvers mostly made by Colt and Smith &Wesson.
They are far far better made than any Glock and will easily outlast them without ever jamming.

However muzzle velocities and accuracy are compromised...
So even with a very high quality build, the snub nose revolver's performance could be called "mediocre".
;)

Glocks are great, but they are not high end. A new SW model 60 3 inch revolver costs about twice as much as a Glock.
very true...a Glock is like a REO...simple, indestructible and it get's the job done. (sorta like a ProVari) I love Glocks...I own a few. Same with REO's....

I'd say a revolver is more like a REO.
No major plastic parts, rarely ever breaks, extremely simple.

Glocks have plastic frames and if you throw a little grit in there things stop working smoothly.

Sometimes clones are the better deal.
Even with firearms.
The Italian makers like Uberti and Pietta make old school revolvers that function better than the original Colts and Remmies they cloned.

It was a no brainer, with companies like Hana and Provape charging a kidney for a mediocre device, the industry practically begged the Chinese cloners to get involved.
They asked for it.

Now, Chinese companies make their own chips. It aint that hard. China makes the IPhone. They arent new to electronics.

These new cheaper devices are the future and you can thank those overpriced authentic pioneers for bringing it to us.
The heart of provari at least up to 2.5 was a Chinese microprocessor.

They claim the rest was all made in the USA or built and assembled in house.

I wanna know where they got their L.E.D.s for their buttons.

The radius was too little, too late.

Provape killed themselves with a poor business management.
They resisted the buying trends in the industry they survived on.
They were edgy, and bucked the status quo, avoiding the high watt/sub ohm movement, and alienating a large portion of their customer base.

The Radius was a last ditch effort, that came too late.
All based on the false prophets of the disciples of safety.

Shrug

What's all that? Has nothing to do with your statement about the quality of them, their products are not mediocre no matter what you think about their business model

Au contraire!

While the build QUALITY was superb, the performance lacked greatly in MANY ways.

If you're going to argue a person's point, let's keep it in perspective. ;)

No , I just think their products are top of the line, that's all. If you think their stuff is mediocre, you must be sporting some serious thizzum that I don't know about. But it's cool, if you think they are just ok products, that's your opinion, I just disagree.

I think we all agree.

They were great products...
FOR YOU.

For me? Now? Useless...

Still got my reos daily driving though.
