I like my mech mods because they are simple and they have a unique style. And because I much enjoy building my own coils to get what I want out of an unregulated battery instead of just throwing together anything and cranking up the volts on a VV/VW box mod. It adds a fun and exciting hobby to the enjoyment of vaping.

These days I vape almost all the time on mechanical mods with sub-ohm setups. I started with mech mods in early 2013 and I'm now very comfortable with them. My most used mod is a Reo Grand which is a mechanical bottom feeder and there are no good regulated BF'ers around that I know of (that may be changing soon) so that is another factor for me.

If I were getting into it now I'm pretty sure I would go with high powered regulated mods. The advantages are improved safety, the power level stays the same throughout your vape as the battery discharges and the ability to dial in your vape for different build resistance and for different times of the day seems like a great feature to me. You don't need to use sub-ohm builds with the regulated mods because you can turn up the voltage with higher resistance setups and get a superb high power vape.

That's the part I like about the regulated mods. I like that I can build a higher resistance build and get about the same vape as a sub ohm build on a mech. I do love my Cronus though. Just not prime for taking out with me for the day because I don't have a whole bag of batteries to bring with me.

I tried a few regulated mods mainly the MVP2 and the VaporShark. Sadly I was impressed with neither. The MVP2 is now my sisters with a nautilus mini and the vaporshark is now my mothers with a nautilus they both love them. Luckily my money spent was not a waste. Turns out I much prefer the mech mods. There is just something about the simplicity and the crazy limits you can push if you are willing to take the risks. I mean there is nothing comparable to vaping at around 0.2 ohms on a mech. It gives me the flavor and the warm hot vape that I love. So I will stick to mechs. To each his own. The goal is the same to get off the death sticks. Find what you like and go with it. Next task at hand build custom unregulated box mod with parallel VTC4's. I knew my electronics experience would go to good use at some point :vapor: VAPE ON and be as safe as possible.

I use both... and have for quite a while. Mechanicals for simplicity, regulated for the ADV. When I go out, I usually take my mechs.. just because they're more rugged. I don't push the limits with them though... I use a squape as my main mechanical atomizer built at .5 ohms.

Typical stranger's response to my vaping devices:

Ego vv/Protank II : I know someone who vapes... she just quit smoking....

King V2/Squape : what's that? an Electronic hookah? it's huge!

Sigeli 100w + Kayfun lite (for now) : What the hll is that?!?!?!? you smoke from that thing?!?!?!?!?

Should try that .2 atty on a Sigelei 100w and crank it up to 4.0+ volts. It's like, too intense for me lol plus I hate how big the box is.
