Hi,

so after finally convincing my mom to switch to E-cigs, it's been great. She went from smoking 2 packs a day to about 5 cigarettes a day she was planning on completely cutting off cigarettes after finishing what she has left but the 2 e-cigs have been acting up recently and whenever they do she goes back to smoking more cigarettes.

So I was wondering if there's any e-cig that is known for being reliable? She's been using an EGO-C cigarette and she's happy with the size, amount of vape and battery duration.

Now I know that there isn't any battery that won't die off over time but I was hoping maybe there would be any clearomizer, atomizer or basically any tank that won't have the typical issue of burning, leaking, etc.. for at least a few months at a time. the tanks she's had last about a month or so. Every time i try researching it I end up falling into the rabbit hole that's pretty overwhelming.

and so i ask is there any e-cig known for it's reliability? as for price range I'm hoping to stay below 100$

Does she have more than one battery? And what power rating are they? Two 1300MHA batteries will be about the same size and will last a lot longer between charges.

For reliability and no-fiddling, I'd say try a cartomizer tank. You can get a twist-type battery for it, it will work fine, and they taste better and are a better vape - the learning curve is a little steep at first, but once you get used to it, it's pretty rock solid - if you stick to one juice flavor, a good carto can last for up to two weeks. I've yet to burn one, and when they're gunked up, you toss 'em. Some people clean them, but they're cheap enough that I just throw them out. Well, the two I've gunked up so far. :) A tank can be as cheap as $10, the cartos are $1.50 - $1.80 each, and the batteries can be found for $20 each.

Great kit. Probably most recommended kit on the Forum this year. From most comments, the Spinners and evods are very popular. All clearos require replacement heads. They have to be replaced anywhere from daily to monthly, depending on vaping technique and amount and type of juice. These are reliable, but I don't know any devices that don't have to be maintained, and they can be. Good luck to you!

I've found that the most unreliable thing in Vapeland is the 510 connection itself. The center pin moves around in most tanks/batteries just enough that the battery-charger connection gets screwy. Then folks assume the battery has gone bad; when it's just not connecting well.

Solved that issue by keeping an ego/510 adapter (around$2-3) between the charger and battery, when charging. You'll then also have the adapter available when using eGo clearomizers on 510 only devices.

On to the Most Reliable devices in Vapeland: Kanger EVOD clearomizers. These things are about as plug and play as anything I've run across. My only gripes are the small capacity, and having to flip ém around to fill ém. That said, these thing fill easy, tape easy, and very rarely leak; which is a bit strange, because their sibling, the Kanger T3 has all kinds of gurgling and leaking issues. EVODs can be had for $3-6, depending on where you look. The replaceable heads are just a shade over $1 each (though I clean mine a few times before going with fresh replacement).

Happy vaping!

I got 6 ego-size batteries.

For a 2 pack a day habit, getting a small stable of batteries to keep away from that smoke is well worth it.

But you can also get a couple of these:

look for 'mini passthrough'; no battery; no recharge; just plug in. The main failure point is the push button electronics, which is pretty much the same as what you get on batteries anyway.

2 e-cigs have been acting up recently and whenever they do she goes back to smoking more cigarettes.

What does this mean? Are the batteries working? Are the batteries charging. What kind of juice delivery device is she using. Is she getting no vapor or is it a burnt taste problem.

We can make all kinds of suggestions but we need more info on what the problem is.

As usual great advice from Bill  I've owned 2 X 1300 Spinners for over a year and they still perform flawlessly. Large battery capacity also means they're not being charged as often and thus last longer- approx. 250 300 recharges.
Best of Luck.

Thanks for all the replies everyone and sorry I didn't give any details about the issues we've had with them I didn't want this to become another troubleshooting thread. I'm honestly just looking for a way to make it so that smoking cigarettes isn't the easier option.

but thanks again it all the replies really helped narrow down what to look for.

As another option, I bought the starter Triton kit from Halo, and I love it. Nothing leaks, it's easy to use, and I have different sized batteries. I bought extra mini tanks for sampling, and extra full size tanks for regular use - works well for me! (Oh, and an extra packet of coils. I dump the tanks in vodka every now and then to clean them out!).
