No, I don't think anyone has a prob with high VG content, I certainly don't. Questions are always welcome, fire away, if I don't answer someone else will :)
Exactly, it was designed to run 100% VG, it comes with a little reducing tube to slow the flow down if using really thin liquids.

So in preparation for some of the greatest vapemail coming on Monday I need to modify my Cyclone for bottom feeding. I was able to remove the center post fairly easily but now for drilling I have already dulled two bits. I am going slow and using lubricant (HAH!) but figured I would ask the professionals before I head out to buy new bits.

Last time I hit the hardware section I bought these bits which were the titanium dewalt, they were perfect for opening up airholes with little effort and also happened to be 1/16th for some micro coil building but alas have failed at drilling out my center post.

You want cobalt for drilling steel and yes I go through several just drilling a lower drain hole in BF cyclone. If you have bench grinder you can sharpen them.

Thanks FB, no bench grinder here so unfortunately I will need to purchase new bits (or should I say a batch). So in your experience it may be easier to invest in a rotary tool to channel the center post vs drill a BF hole (for the average DIY'er)?

I realize it is also dependent on the specific RDA and insulator type.

I don't know if a smaller drill size would help, like 1mm, but I will find out soon when my first real cyclone (tf) arrives hopefully this week. I have 4 x 1mm cobalt bits waiting, and a drill press. Will let you know how I go. From the pic, it looks like you may be in danger of punching out the side if you continue with 1/16" bits. If you size down the drill bit, you will have a chance of squaring up the direction of the drilled hole. I bought some 3mm brass rod recently so I could have a go at making an entire center post if required (like if I ruined a $60 rba center post). The cheap clones mostly use 3mm, but not sure of the exact diameter of the cyclone center post. I also bought a M2 tap to tap the top screw thread. Good luck. I am not looking forward to drilling a SS post on a $60 atty

I have given up in drilling center posts. I have broken way too many bits. I use a Dremel now and cut a channel. It takes about 5 mins. It is not as clean as drilling, but oh so much easier to do.

Man, I feel your frustration. I've only drilled brass center posts so far, without incident. But SS is a much much harder material to work with, I don't like working with it, and never have. I don't have a rotary tool either. I am stubborn but I feel an impending sense of doom coming my way

I chose to drill because I actually thought it would be easier since the post serves as a guide for drilling, but yes the SS is getting the better of me.

I decided to hold off on a last minute trip to the hardware store, I will ice my wounded pride with cold beer and maybe ask the wife for a back rub....:toast:

I talked to the wife and she suggested I just purchase a BF Cyclone but I will not be defeated!

Your wife gives you backrubs?? What is this backrub you speak of?

It is only fair since my traps are tense from all the shrugs I do when she asks me questions like, "were you listening to me?" or "did you hear about (insert random reality star)?"

Well since I butchered this attempt at my cyclone once I am up and running with the dremel ill take some shots to help show my process for those with general tool access and knowledge.

Stainless does take some finesse. Cobalt bits, lubricant, slower revolution speed and the right amount of pressure. I found for myself the pressure and slower speed were the keys. Now I even get more than one application out of a cobalt bit.

But I am going with the Dremel and cutoff wheel when I finally get around to channeling my small collection of top fed cyclone bases. If that seems to work better I may even lower my BF drain holes using the same method.

My cyclones will never see the classys! :)

Bro, you stuck both leads in the same side of the posts. Try it like this. The holes are just like the chalice - coil needs to be inserted like a Z :

Don't know if that pic helped or if I explained it properly but they should go in with one lead thru one post on one side and the other lead goes thru the other post on the opposite side.

Super_X,
you are absolutely right with your advice for a Z wick.
I tried it 3 times with different types of Kanthal and NiCr wire but I never got a satisfying taste which seems to do with the AFC equal if you use the side with the variable 3mm vent or the fixed 1.5mm whole. You`ll get a lot of vape but it is not dense and that`s why it doesn`t taste very well compared to RM2/Cyclone and Igo.

I think the part of bottom with the posts seems to have same concave surface as the chalice - I compared it by photos because I never had a chalice. The liquid hole has a diameter of 1.5mm which means liquid running back to the bottle like Niagarra Falls. Thats what I dont like because I had to feed it for every breathe.

But do you still heard about the Aria - ATOMsfera by Roby74 - ACCIAIO?

Cheers from Germany, Super-X
and a big thanks for your cool and helpfull videos which supported my start with Reos successfully!
