Hi guys,

I've been vaping happily my Reo mini black wrinkle for a year now, working from home, and not minding changing batteries and filling juice very often (0.5 ohm micro/cotton).
But I'm leaving for Africa (south sahel) for work in a few weeks, and will likely stay there a year or so. I need a grand for the bigger battery life and juice capacity.
My question is about finish. Which one is best under the desert sun? Which one will survive the sand?
What is your experience with hot weather? (not necessarily dry, I'll be in places with rain season too)
I like the black wrinkle, and think it might be OK, but I'd like a change.
Thanks!

I would suggest the Tumbled Raw Aluminum. It is smooth as satin and will not show wear much at all.

It is a rugged REO but looks and feels superb.

The only thing that will happen to the finish with sand is you might get some polishing done!

I use to keep one of mine in a leather holster. Over time the edges started to appear slightly polished.

Might I suggest you take along reducer tubes. With high heat you might find they inhibit the juice flow enough to keep leaking at bay.

Physics, dark colors absorb more heat radiation. Black car hotter to the touch than white or silver. Put a cover or case on it.

Sure, but I do get the impression that black wrinkle is more "temperate". Less hot in summer than plain metal. Maybe that's the grain more than the color.
(I want a white wrinkle)
But the only summer I've lived with it was in Paris so... not that hot.

The other side is dark colors absorb and transfer heat white colors reflect heat. A white coffee cup keeps the coffee warmer longer than a black cup will. You can think heat as light, black absorbs white or mirror reflects. Yes I agree a textured finish will have less surface contact with your hand and would feel cooler than the same color that was smooth.

Sitting in a hot car for hours they would both be equally hot, the black will get there faster.
