Hello,

I've had my Reo Grand for over a year now so my warranty is up :( Last night I changed my battery like I do every night and it just stopped working. I have cleaned everything, tried new batteries, new atomizer but still dead. I have opened it up to see if it was maybe a loose wire but not seeing anything different.

I'm not sure on how you guys can help me but hoping for some tips or tricks so I can pinpoint the problem and get her working again.

I'm stuck using my old Provari mini and while it does the job its just not the same.

Thank you for any help

Todd

First, make sure the buttons not in the locked position.;) Second, check your spring and meter your build. You could have dropped your spring. If everything seems fine, give your reo a nice bath, sometimes crud gets stuck to the positive contact and stops it from making contact with the battery. If its still not working, your battery may have died or your positive contact may be cracked/ the nipple could be loose.

Keep us updated and dont worry! Whatever it is CAN be fixed!

Assuming you didn't accidentally turn it to the locked position, I'd go in this order. Look at the spring (with battery out) to see if it's collapsed/discolored. Then check the voltage on the battery. Then check the resistance of the atomizer. If all that looks good, see if the positive contact is being depressed when you push down on the button, and make sure it isn't loose (side to side movement). Last thing to try would be to remove the spring (there's a screw holding it in from the outside/bottom), and while you have it out, clean the threads thoroughly and apply some noalox to the screw threads before putting it back.

If none of those fixes it, you'll need to trace the circuit with a multimeter.

Sorry should have specified it is a vv Grand. I have checked if its in the locked position and unfortunately that wasn't it. The spring looks good its nice and clean too. I clean everything about once a week. I will unscrew the bottom and apply some noalox hope that does the trick. If that doesnt work I will try everything else you guys have mentioned.

Thank you for the quick responses much appreciated. I will keep you guys updated.

The chip or the switch is prob dead. Send it in to rob and maybe he can replace but he may not have any chips left. Though he can convert it to a mechanical reo like the current models.. you just have to use a spacer under the battery and a 18650 batt.

I've had 2 of the vv reos thst the chips died. Also had the switches converted to the latest style for them which was a better switch that wasn't prone to dying.. the chip prob will only last about a year or a year and a half depending on how much it's used.

Please put
a note with your email address and a brief description of the problem . Also
empty any e juice in the mod and remove the bottle . It helps to put a tissue or napkin around the tube . Please clean the mod . I will send a invoice once the mod is repaired

Well I tried everything and it looks like the chip might be dead as Redeyedance said. Thanks for all the suggestions though.

My friend recently bought me a Vapor Flask squonk dna 40 v2.1s but the chip inside it went bad after a week so I sent that back and was using my trusty Reo as my backup.

Thanks Redeyedance looks like I will be sending it to you to get it fixed.

Sorry to hear about the failing chips. At least you have a trusty Reo to use until you get the other Reo back (that will serve you many more years afterwards). Not sure about the Vapor Flask. Maybe you can share your experience in a certain thread that's floating around here about this very topic.
