Got this one used and love is sofar but been noticing inconsistent firing.

Was going to tear it down for cleaning and file the button contact point and nolax it and noticed a bit of juice leakage from the top left corner of the delrin cover and the juice has been seeping from there and traveling down the left door slot.

Ive got the bottom spring out and the delrin cover but now im stumped and dont want to break anything.

Where do I go from here?

Well I got it tore down, have to order a rebuild kit now and just got this thing 2 days ago =(

There seems to be a gasket inbetween the aluminum body and the 510 female connection and its old and wore out, it doesnt seem to be removable though without unthreading the whole 510 insert though, its a gasket i dont see in the rebuild vid.... uggg not good.

Next time im buying new

Glad I was able to help. It sucks that it requires a rebuild but look at the bright side, once you rebuild it it will be as good as new(mechanically, don't know the cosmetic condition). You must work midnights like me or have a terrible case of insomnia.
pulled from midnights to second shift so i get off at midnight...just as bad lol

its cosmetically good except for a little pitting in the catch cup , just had this leaking issue...

I just dont know what that seal in the pic is... I think its a gasket sandwiched against the aluminum body by the 510 insert, if thats the case Ill have to send it in =( which will put me over the price of a new one with what I paid plus repairs, but I got an era with it

What about the mystery gasket? The pics are to show this gasket, you can see it chewed up and hanging in the hole... I know its dirty guys its been leaking lol.

Ive tried to pry the gasket out from inside and its just shredding but doesnt come out. It seems like its a seal between the mod body and 510 housing and not meant to come out. I dont want to order the kit if its something not included with the kit and needs sent in.

also.... has anyone seen pitting like this in their catchcup? What caused this? Citrusy juices?

Kinda bummed... got this used and the leak and pitting wasn't mentioned. I paid $130 but it came with an ERA and a bag of extra parts so cant complain I guess. And he wasnt really selling the mod but offered it to me after I came late and missed out on the one he had in the classies so this was probablly just a backup and he wasnt aware of the issues... I dont know :(

I doubt that very many peeps have done what it appears you have started...... I am one of the few in the exclusive club.

It appears that you have started pulling out, just as I did, the packing (note.. not a gasket as is included with rebuild kit) around the pressed in fitting. That is not in the realm of user rebuild. REO has to be sent to REO Spa so Robert can remove the pressed in fitting, repack it, and press in a new fitting. The rest of the rebuild is in the rebuild kit. But hey, for a few dollars more Robert will do the rebuild and there will be no questions about it being perfect.

Ok , thanks for your response, this would confirm what I thought. Was beginning to think I was crazy lol.

I will hopefully hear from Rob today.

I have a little pitting in one of my oldest Mini 1.0, Silver Anodized. It has been in near constant use for over 2 years and still has the original bottle and small tube. I am original owner. It has never had any citris in it but has seen its share of Applewood 50/50 PG/VG. I do have a lot of metal REOs going back to mid 2010 but none get used as much as my Workhorses, Silver Anodized REOs. I have all models SA except for Mini 2.1. But the Mini 1.0, most used, is only one with the pitting.

I would venture to guess that there ARE some juices that are more caustic than others.
