How do you tell what version or how old a reo is?
Speaking of anodized only:
The best way to distinguish body age is the milling marks on inside of metals. Internals not always best indicator as they can be rebuilt or tubes, buttons, springs replaced without a total rebuild. Robert used to use hex screws for spring but has been using phillips for quite a while now. Out of a bunch of small hex sets I have only one had the correct size for the old screw. I have a couple of pictures that show milling. May have time to post today but really busy.
Another variable is the anodizer used. Sometimes the colors varied slightly and ocassionally a lot. Also the thickness of anodizing layer. Also how much gloss in layer.
Most, but not all, of the REOs that were polished before anodizing are early releases.
Robert did a short run of Mini 1.0 mid 2010 before the first Grands were released. That was only run of blue until later next year. New blue is different and it has varied slightly along the way but none are as aqua toned as first. Green came late to game. Then green was changed to one more limey.
At one time I had every run of black, different millers and anodizers (except for most recent). I have a picture of some of them together.
