Is she a Maine ....? I had a Maine .... while I was in Elementary School. His name was Boz. He was the coolest cat ever! He got kidney failure and we had to put him down. That was a horrible day! :(

Awww... sad! Even harder for a kid. We never ever forget our furry angels, no matter how old we are or how many years have passed.

I'm not sure what Ubu is. She is the most laid back cat I've ever had. Likes people. Hold her upside down, rough her up, no problem.

Doggie roller coaster!
My chocolate lab had surgery last week. She got spayed and while she was under anesthesia we had the vet go ahead and remove a large growth from her side. The vet is still not sure if the growth would have harmed her at all, it was benign but it's better safe than sorry. The growth was the size of a hedgehog. She is recovering very well, and is a big ol snuggle bug right now. Luckily we don't have to pay for our vet visits... We just have to drive 2 hours to Atlanta. We have a vet that hunts at our farm that gets a cut rate and provides us with vet care for our many animals. I feel very fortunate to have him, that thousand dollar bill sure would hurt!

Yes, my doggy LOVES the home center where he can ride in the trolley lol!

Wow, happy to hear your lab is fine and recovering and that the growth was benign. Posts some pics of her sometime! Is that her as a puppy in your profile pic?

Not sure how many of my fellow REOnauts are aware of the new addition to our depleted family of canine friends. Lost all our old dogs this winter and spring.
Betty is the gal to try to take their place. She's a Lab/mix. She was supposedly a Lab/Golden Retreiver, but her markings are just not there. We know she's half Lab. The other half......? Sure is a nice girl though. This is her with her Golden/Doodle friend Barley.

I thought Betty would be bigger by now, Roger. She looks like a happy girl, full of energy and ready to go get into mischief.

She is about 40 Lbs. at 4 1/2 months, Sashie. I don't think she'll get real big. Sure wish I knew her actual bloodline.
She is a tiger, she play--mauls Barley, the Golden-Doodle until he or she is exhausted. He is older and a more passive fellow. She is so physical that I have to constantly contain her to keep her from mauling other puppies in play. Not in the order of hurting them but just having the upper hand in play. We met a young border collie today that wanted to play with her and I kept a tight leash to keep her from romping over the top of the poor little guy. Very physical and dominant girl. Hopefully not an issue that I'll have to deal with later on. I knew she was a dominant puppy right when we took her from the litter but thought we were experienced enough dog people that we could handle her. Sure hope I was right.:)

She looks smaller in that picture. But I could tell she was rearing to go by the pull on her collar even though she was sitting with her tongue hanging out.

I knew what you meant by mauling - full of vim and vigor so she plays hard.
How I wish we had a dog park here where 5 or 6 bigger dogs could confront her sniffing her every orifice and putting her in her place when she entered the park.
That'd save me a bunch of work.

Sorry to hear about your dogs bushmaster :(. We can never replace them, but starting a new human/canine relationship always softens the blow.:)

Sorry to hear about the loss my friend. Nice looking pair there.

We lost our oldest Lilly last Thursday. She was only 9 and 1/2 and a wonderful Golden Retriever. It happened fast though, all was good then 4 vet trips over 10 days. I miss her dearly. We should have her ashes back in a few days and they go on the book shelf right next to her best friend Daisy ... another Golden.

We have two left, a Chcololate Labradoodle and an Old English Sheep dog. This is the first time I have not had a Golden around in 41 years :( I got my first one when I was 4 and have had at least one by my side (and in my bed) ever since.
Ya the bed part took the wife some time to get used to be she came around ... had to go king size though.

As much as I love dogs I don't know if I can keep going on and get any more. Maybe when the pain settles down some.
The only good thing is I know exactly what each dog is thinking and I can tell when its time. I know they thank me for the final act of mercy and each one has gone to sleep with their head on my lap. Shame we cant do that with people.

.......m now I have to go find some tissues.

Back ... thanks for the good cry I hadn't had a chance to do that. We put Lilly to sleep at Noon on Thursday and at 2pm we were driving out of town for a long weekend. Had to leave our other two dogs at home with a sitter too wondering what was going on with their friend..... it was a real mess ..... What a terrible trip but we were obligated to be there.
