The last week my pin has been getting stuck down unless i tap ever so gently. I've already pushed(bent) it back up a few times and i know it doesn't have much life left in it. I've had my Reo for about 15 months. I believe it's a regular mini and not a 2.1; tho i am not sure what the difference is. I am planning on buying a repair kit i just want to make sure i get the right one. Also i've never actually taken the insert in the top of the Reo compartment out and i am somewhat worried about getting the new pin installed and getting everything back together properly. Is this a pretty easy repair?

Thanks

mechanical mod repair - YouTube Watch this video several times. The same repair kit works for any version of the Mini. I've done it and it's not hard. If you have any doubts, you can send it to Rob and he'll do a rebuild for you. The only thing I'd caution you about is the center screw that holds on the delrin cover. Careful not to strip it. It screws straight into the aluminum body, and if you strip it, it's hard to fix.

Hi Prim, let us know how it goes if you replace it yourself. But what i wanted to say/ask is how many REOs do you have? It is good to have at least 2 in case one needs to be repaired.

More is better :)

That is not very old for a REO. Sometimes the firing mechanism will stick if it is a little dirty inside. Maybe a good soak and wash will free it up. Run hot water down through the button area while pushing the button a few times. Turn the Mini upside down and run hot water up into the delrin insert, again pushing the button a few times.

It is worth a try to see if this takes care of the problem.

What size batts do you use? If 14500 its a Mini, if 18490/18500 its a Mini 2.0 or 2.1. If you follow Rob's video it's really easy to do.
Thanks, mini it is.

Only one ATM; and yes I need a backup! One coming actually, tho not a REO. Been wanting a tank setup for awhile. Have a k100 coming with a protank 2. I love my REO, but my backup can be cheaper. Not to mention I'll probably be buying a third soon for my girl. Someday I'll be grabbing the Woodville of my dreams.

Thanks for the tip. My mini is pretty grimy. I'll give it a good bath tomorrow. After giving the button and pin a good looking at, this could very well be a big part of my issue. Think I'll scratch up the pin and re noalox while I'm at it since I can't remember the last time I did that either. Just hot tap water and a little soap the best way to deep clean?

Thanks guys. Top level support. You are one of the best parts of owning a REO.

Here's the video about cleaning your Mini: mod maintenance - YouTube

Yea, i saw that sticky yesterday when i popped in to ask advice. Thought there might be some additional pro-tips :)

I now realize that's the only pro-tip needed for cleaning these bad boys. Stripped her down today and removed the delrin insert and totally removed button and pushed pin to the side. Gave everything a good scrubbing. It was pretty bad(she made me promise never to do that to her again.) bent the pin up gently, filed my point up and re-applied some Noalox. Carefully reassembled, used a blow dryer to dry it off, and primed a fresh carto:

There's a little thank you vape-porn.

The plastic sleeve on the pin still looks like it's seen better days; but i tested by mashing the button a few times with no sticking. Also through the process of it sticking i have learned to not mash on it by force of habit.

Thanks everyone! You guys rock!
