I've got 6 new ugly brown LG 3000mahs that I've been using magnets on for the metal reo.. woodvils no issue with flat tops!

And yes I've seen them arch on the metal reos and I stay at 1ohms.
Hey! Ugly brown??!!?? These are my new favorites. Ha. They match my Woodvils much better than orange or turquoise.....just sayin'. Hahaha

Why exactly are you running a magnet on the battery? Mine work in my grands just fine without a magnet... I tend to run mine in the .3Ω neighborhood and depending on the atty as low as .2Ω... No magnet needed...

So color coordinating is a reason for buying the LG HG2 batts too I guess. ;)

I bought eight of them for the four this year Woodies or backups for the earlier Woodies. Have not been using any of the '650 Woodies much for months though, so use these batts in a pinch for the Grands (without magnets).

Obviously 2 reasons which were talked about a few months ago when someone brought up the new brown LG 3000mah batteries.

1. The contact bends that much further to make contact with the battery. Bend it thst far plus if your a button masher could end up with a snapped contact sooner then later.

2. For some reason flat tops arch more then button.. different metals? Or just a lighter contact may be the blame for the arching.

Lighter contact will happen cause your already pressing it further then normal with a flat top battery.

Personally I don't like it but I've checked in the dark without the magnet recently and I could not believe it arched when I vape at 1ohms.. people have always stated that arching is more prone to happen with sub ohming.

Are you using Noalox or De-Ox-it.
I'm still using Noalox with flat tops, no magnets. I've sat in the dark, looking for arching.
    I just don't see any, at .5-.4ohm.
Was just wondering if I should spend the money on De-ox-it?

Knock on woodville, I never get any arcing.
And I rotate my LGHG2's and Samsungs in and out of both a Grand, and a 2015 Woodville, no magnets...

I WOULD get a teensy tube of the de-oxit. I swear, you can notice a better hit immediately after applying. I put literally like a DROP on a bit of paper towel and pinch the paper towel with the fire button. And a drop on a Cutetip, to apply to battery ends. VERY light application. And I do that maybe every couple months.

I've seen a VERY VERY tiny bit of dark wipe off a connection point, but mostly it's clean - (confirming that I'm not getting arcing without noticing it).

Same tube I got - it's kept over a dozen devices working well ever since the gold contacts came out, and it's nowhere near a quarter used up.

Did not put fresh deoxit gold on it at the time no but I do use it.

You might want to put in new springs in your devices if you have a problem with the pin not reaching the top of the battery to make good contact... Mine are very snug fitting against the delrin block and they fire very easily. I run as I said, in the .2Ω-.3Ω range and have no problems with arcing. I do use De-Ox-it pretty regularly as well.

I have found since switching my atty's out to ones that were designed for bottom feeding, (O-16's and Nuppin's), has made all the difference in my vape and has eliminated arcing. I no longer run any atty's that were modded, either by myself or Tom at CAM.

I also have specific batteries, (all HG2's), that are designated for certain devices that I have. Each battery has a different color wrap designated for which device it is for. I did this specifically to test for arcing in my devices and between the new atty's, batteries, and De-Ox-It I have eliminated arcing.

I have HG2's as well and use magnets when I remember to. It reduces the button throw, which I've discovered really isn't that big of a deal after all and I do get arcing on my HG2's so I use magnets to reduce the time I have to spend cleaning the tops of my batteries. The arcing seems to be worse than it was with my AW 1600's, and that's with noalox. I mentioned this in another thread and it was then mentioned that better batteries like the HG2 will arc more because they're capable of a higher burst of current upon contact. That totally matches up with what I'm experiencing with the HG2's. I get a lot more scorching on the flat top requiring more cleaning, magnets protect the flat top.

My spring is fine.. never shorted it to shrink it. My bats are tight to the top as always.

I too have a O-16 as I bought 2 when the pre order opened. In fact I had the O-16 on it when it arched.. been using it on the grand for the past 2 months + exclusively.
