To get the .5 you seek - you need both coils at 1ohm...duals cut the resistance in half.

edit - you are using SS yes? Well - what I would do is build to 1ohm on each coil. I too like around a .4 to .5 cold resistance on my single coil 2.5ID SS coil...however, I did NOT like dual coil at .5ohm. YMMV

You will need to play around with it...dual coils can be wonderful but just like you needed to find your happy place with your single (coil ID, wind, air flow, wicking, coil height, spaced, contact....) now you need to do all that for duals. There is no one size fits all nor simply making 2 coils the way you like your single coil vape. At least, this is my experience.
I really appreciate your thoroughness and thoughts on the SS. For the last couple hours I've been playing with Steam Machine intermittently with SS and Kanthal....and I think I've blown my mind. I think for know I'm gonna simplify and just start with one type....for now.... (Easily confused but still love learning).

And now that I think about it (or understand it more). I think I will start with 1 or .9 and built each coil to 2 or 1.8 and not the .5 mentioned above.

Remember, when building duals, your total resistance is half of what a single coil would be, because there are two paths for the current to flow. For a final resistance of .8 ohms, you would build 2 identical 1.6 ohm coils. Remember also, the two coils should be identical (same number of wraps for each coil).
As far as coming close to your preferred .9 ohm singles, you'll need to experiment. You can use the 'Heat Flux' feature at the bottom for this.
Thumbs up! Say, I've always wanted to understand Heat Flux. I put 13 in mine but can't tell you why. Can it be explained simply (For folks like me me?)

Also, the term "net" ohms refers to the ohms of one coil divided by 2 right or ?

I build Stumpys and Manta V2s at .48 (dual coils, 2mm ID, 6 wraps with 28guage or 9 wraps with 26 gauge). At 26 gauge, the coils are getting pretty big. To end up at 1 ohm, you're going to need a lot of wraps! Perhaps try a build closer to .5 and see what you think. I was stunned at the flavor and vapor: full, dense, warm yumminess! :)

"Dense, full, warm yumminess" sounds exactly like what I am looking for in most of my flavors, except for the minty ones. Thank you for the suggestion.
And to all Reonauts, thank you as always for your wisdom and patience. I'm not sure I would have put out such a basic question anywhere else. What a helpful crew indeed.

Yes, I often build 3.0mm duals - but not in an O-16. Those go in a Rogue, or Manta, etc.. full 22mm atties.
And I think of it as an ongoing balance between resistance and "mass" - I hate a "lag" and I use Reos - so I can't overcome a lot of wire with a lot of watts, and have to plan my build accordingly...

(Also - I'm one of the rare ones that tried SS, didn't really prefer it, and am back with Kanthal most of the time...)

Interesting. I've never tried 3mm coils in a Manta. I would think it would be a little tight. Even though the Manta is a 22mm atty, the chamber, inside the cap, is only about 14.5mm.

Still, plenty of room on the deck...

Also happy to find his "non vape related site":
Flashlights and Authentic AW Batteries - RTD Electronix
kewl......thanks for this.....have this bookmarked!!

I don't "sub-ohm" so to speak, ... but, I have good equipment, and want to get the best flavor from it.
I didn't sub ohm before you sent me the SS wire either! :p I went from 1.3 duals to .5 duals. Love it

OK, I have a P67. I'm just starting to get used to and I can't see how to lock it. There's a black thing just above the bottle that looks like it might be intended to slide back and forth, but it barely moves when I try to slide it. I'm sure it's simple, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to these things.
glad you got it workin and glad you have a p-67

Nobody was born knowing this stuff.

I think Rob mighta been...........unless the porkies taught him everything he knows. :)

But here's the scoop. I know zip about why dual coil folks prefer duals. (I know I could post this/research this outside of Reoville but I'm a 100% Reonaut AND you are patient).
Please share a word or 2 about duals in regard to flavor and anything else that comes to mind.
for me I just don't get enough throat hit from singles as I do from duals, and the flavor is better in duals. Just more flavor and fuller flavor.

30 gauge (presently I only have 28 and 30)
lemme know if you wanna try some 26g. I bought 250 feet of that and 28g. BTW at temco....... I found that unless you wanna get 500 feet, the 250 feet is a MUCH better deal than 100 feet. Still a small spool, just heavier.

I have a standard Reo not LP
Is anyone using a BF Velocity Mini RDA By Tobeco on your Reo and if so. how do you lie it? (its so cheap)
Isn't the Velocity Mini RDA By Tobeco shorter but still 22mm? Are you sure it will fit a non-LP?

Thanks Bud
Will it possibly fit but maybe just look funny?
I don't want to shave the reo cause I still have a rm2

It won't work. The drip well is too deep on the Standard (non LP) REO.
However, the RM2 will still work on a LP.

Jup........even if you shave it to LP, the rm2 will still work on it......any atty will...... you'll just see some of the brass where the rm2 was milled down to fit inside the well of a standard profile reo. I saw someone that added two black o rings on the milled down brass of the Rm2 and it looked kinda kewl.

I think you need another Reo.
well that's a given!! Most everyone always needs another Reo!! lol

Is anyone familiar with the RM10 on Rob's website? Specifically, is airflow good for DL?
someone was talking about it some time ago, but I'm not familiar with it. Don't even recall which atty they said it was. But I am sure someone will have some answers for ya when they see this, so hang tight
