Hey @jifjifjif, did you get your 510 sorted? If it were me I would call Eric but then again, I’m not very technically inclined. (But can learn new tricks).

I'm trying not to call on Eric, but get it sorted out myself. This is my project mod.

Thanks for the suggestion though. :)

Why not get a piece of steel or brass tubing and cut to correct length to fit the well and gap and tap the 510 in? That’s what I would do, jb weld the insert in and then jb weld the 510 in but you want a tight enough press fit first

Press the 510 in with JB Weld into the insert then press the insert into the hole with JB Weld

A wire would have to be soldered to the outside of the 510 then attached to the inside REO body. The JB Weld doesn't conduct electricity, I checked to make sure. There are electrically conductive epoxies but they are either way too expensive or trying to find a good one will just give you a big Google headache.

I have 2 Grands--one of which is the original high-profile type. Since the RM2 atty is no longer available, I'm looking at some of the China clones which might fit this Grand. If my memory serves me, an atty needs to be 14mm in width to fit the high-profile Grand. Is this correct?

The Hellfire might fit the bill. I have one and find it to be similar to the RM2 but the air is adjustable.

Hi Master,
I have one old high profile grand also, and long ago, I sent it in to bring it up to date.
It's still a hp (no trimming), but with the new guts, my high profile SS RM2 doesn't fit down into it anymore.
So, if you need a high profile RM2, I'll send it to you, as a lp fits it now (should of just left it alone)
The hp sticks up, and looks dumb on the Reo now ... just PM me your address, and I'll send it to you.

What batteries are you using? I've been using the red AW IMR 18650 1600mAH button top for years....I cannot find them anymore where I am comfortable buying. I bought from one shop and they were DOA. I'm open to use another battery, I am just not sure which one since I'm a creature of habit and have kept using the same things from day 1 on the REO. RTD has been out for a while, they were my go to. Thank you.

I use flat tops. The throw of the button takes some getting used to they do work of the Grand.

I’m the same type of creature! I used the AW’s for years. Apparently someone reported that their factory burned down. I contacted RTD and they only have another brand that I’m not familiar with. (Am an RTD loyalist...batteries are so important for many reasons. Safety being first. I had been using a flat top Q30’s from them (pinkish purple) from them solely in my P-67’s. A few brilliant people here suggested I try one in my Grands and they work just fine. I went ahead and ordered them from RTD. Need to get to post office and pick them up. If they are the same size as my 1 year old Q30, I will be able to use the same type of batteries in all my Reos. Will keep you posted.
