Well, not meaning to sound snarky, but one of the reasons might be because of what I experience. Every time I go to the site, I either get "this product is currently not available" or I get sent to "404 article #8 not found" on everything I click on. I just give up and have been giving up for over a year. That's a positive thing as it means I'm still interested but can see why someone would go to the classies instead.

Perhaps you could save yourself some time and just PM rob, redeyedancer and see what he can fix you up with?

With this new-found information I was about to buy that little blue guy but it appears someone has beat me to it. Drats. Those meddling kids.

You will find that's the way they move quite consistently. Unless it's a color no one really wants and the price is on the high side - for a color no one really wants - they move fast.

I thought getting that OG Mini was a steal at $80- until she arrived and I saw all the blemishes and realized a $23 rebuild kit needed to be applied. I found it too small for my Nosferatu hands and put it back on the classifieds for what I paid- I could have gone higher, but I gained experience in rebuilding and that was worth it to let someone else love her.

just so happens BlueSnake also had the same handling issues, though no performance qualms since the rebuild- he also could have gone higher, but only added the cost of new accessories he purchased.

I think we're a fair bunch when it comes to passing along!

I kinda prefer my old well loved reo. I know I dont have to freak out if i ding it up. Takes allot of the stress out of the "new" mod thing ;)

Yep. Same thing with my guitars. Get that first ding out of the way and then I don't worry about it so much. Adds mojo besides :) Not saying I don't have some guitars I pamper a bit more than others but my number 2 is all beat up and plays like a dream. My Reo will be the same way, may not look as pretty but it'll still be the best vape around!

Thank you all for not attacking me immediately and helping me to understand these prices.

This is another wonderful thing about Reo's and Reonauts... this sub-forum is friendly, helpful, and all around good people. I have yet to see anyone be snarky or rude. I love it here in Reoville, I rented an apartment but I am now looking for property to buy!

It's been a long while since the last Woodvil sale so now we've seen a steep "resurgence" on demand. I purchased an early 2011 model Woodvil that sat in the classifieds for at least a month for 120.00 during the long lull between production. I'd gladly give up to the .20 markup allowed in the classifieds to own a Woody I desired....once things settle down again I'd guess the sighting of Woodvils in the classies will again be very few and very far between so if ya see something yoiu think you may want now it may be best to go after it....:)

Also, wanted to add that I was browsing the classifieds and saw someone in several threads trying to unload their woodvils for mechanical mods so I pm'd the person. Low and behold he sends me pics of a stunning Ebony and what looked to be a Blood Wood that he had picked up in a trade and really had no use for them....newer member that I have never seen in Reoville. I made a trade offer and I soon should have another beautiful Woody......sometimes ya can get "lucky" like this as well.....it happens for those of you having difficulty acquiring.

The Green Anodized was mine .As others have said it is no longer available and on top of that I have taken great care of it and when I got it from another ECF member it had just been rebuilt by Robert .On top of that I included shipping along with two batteries and several bottles and completely cleaned and included extra tubing.

I would say for all that and for a Reo that you can no longer purchase that it was a good deal :)

The added benefit too with any Reo is the amazing customer care and community you get when you purchase one new or used :)

Try complaining to Harley Davidson owners, or Mac PC owners about the price and quality of their belongings, at best you would get laughed at. REOS Mods are quality products, the owner genuinely cares about his customers, and the customers help to make up perhaps the nicest, most user friendly sub-forum in the ECF- REOVille. I personally own six, three metal and three recently acquired wood. I also recently sold a mini (silver w/ metallic red door), RM2, Cherry Tip, 2 used batteries and a spare bottle for $150 in the classies. In six minutes. And the buyer was ecstatic ! That same setup cost about $200 new, and that mini was in near pristine condition. I've also sold a 'fair condition' mini/ RM2 which I described as "Well Used. Well Maintained." Again, The Mini/ RM2, cloth cover, two used batteries and spare juice bottle- this time for $130. Sold in under three hours. The Market for REOS is what it is.
Of course, if you'd prefer a new VV Grand, RM2 and new Batteries- about $260. I have two such setups for Home Use.
Trust me, $150 or for a REOS/ RM2 is a fair price when in good condition.

i never sold any of mine and for that alone you ought to be grateful.

battered old grand, dings all over it - "well rounded corners like the new style", "one lady owner" - but abused to death by me, 2 rebuilds "well-maintained", "full kit included" - i'll toss in a battery and a charger that nearly burned my house down!

what people will pay is fine, I'm still interested in the ?OP posted, sort of the new psychology behind current Reo classy prices. I know you og's around here can remember finding reos in fine shape for 80-100 bucks that would sit for days, while deals were worked out. My original grand is almost 2 years to me, and was used. paid 100bucks shipping included with 3 extra doors. my next was 130 for a pristine mini2w/rm2 and aw batts and case. Those used to be the norm. For about the last 8 months, it's been no time to haggle, pull the trigger. So my last classy purchase was 250for a vvwoodvil, listed on Christmas day. I can no longer get a vvwoodvil so for that one, I can see the price being market value, which is higher than brand spanking new:) (insert 59'les paul here) but I am still interested in why things have changed so much in the recent times on classies. I mean some of them have been beat and still ask for 130 plus shipping and fees. Anyone notice this newer trend? Maybe it's just the popularity of the classies and the excitement of the transaction,
I'll say my new woodvil is my very first ever brand spanking new REO, and boy was it nice to not have someone else's juice flavor imprinted on it!!!! That's worth alot of dollas to me these days. I can't wait to buy and brand spanking new tumbled grand at the end of the month;)

I can remember when cigarettes were $.35 in a machine and gas was $.29 a gallon. Things change. Prices go up.

The popularity of the Reo seems to be increasing. And don't forget thousands are coming over from the dark side daily and that has an effect on prices as well.
You win for most creative Reo avatar !!! Love it !

I don't doubt the love for anyones own reo, hell I wouldn't sell mine. I can understand that. I'm not talking about anything rare one off or no longer made though, I'm talking about a current metal reo that's readily available brand spanking new and in the colors of your choice. new. with a spare bottle, never used, brand new. rob himself gives you an extra discount if he finds a blemish on one that he's not satisfied with, a blemish that most who get them can't even find. why would the same mod that's been used by someone for a while, and has chips scratches and who knows what, it's just used, be worth more than a brand new blemished one that is flawless and virginal? worth more? or worth saving like $14? I swear I think I've seen some sell for more than what a new one would cost. I don't get it, for an extra $20 I'd just order it new, add another $20 and have a low profile milled one too :)

Personally I haven't seen that, but they seldom are posted in the classifieds for less than 20% off original retail and move in a flash. For a PV still in production they hold their value better than almost anything put up in the classys.

I've seen Reos go for as little as $50 and I've personally been offered over $600 for one of mine (I politely declined of course....can anyone guess which one?...and no...it was never for sale.), I've seen them sell in under 5 minutes and a few not sell at all....it all depends on the seller's wants and the level of the buyer's desire, I guess. :) I'm not even sure the "market" really affects it a whole lot except for right before and right after a new sale.

I've only purchased 2 from the classifieds and both were either size (mini 14500) and/or finish (anodized) or color that were no longer available new. Both were priced less than a new one would have been (and also less than a new 'blemished' would have been).

For me, the added values were the community here, the involvement of the owner and the quality of not only the Reo itself, but the customer care, and that, if needed, either one could have been completely rebuilt (or sent in for a complete rebuild) and be 'as good as new' mechanically and performance wise. At this point, any additional Reo's that I purchase are really for expanding my collection, so what I would pay in the classifieds is really dependent on the specific REO being offered, whether the size/finish/color is also still available new or not, and if it is one that interests me (though it would need to be really special if the asking price used was the same as - or more - than a brand new Reo).
