Yeah, we even discuss using ecigs instead of tobacco and of course i tell everyone Reo is the best :)

A heavy duty mechanical mod like the Reo with an RBA would make the most sense. No cartos or clearos being manufactured in the zombie apocalypse.

Indeed, survival is more than just basic essentials. Vaping would be nice, but it would be pretty far down on my list. I'd place music above it.
If we can get enough power to run a Reo then surely we can run a IPOD for a while(I would suggest that you get someone in the group that can play music tho...i dont trust ipods they arent mechanical lol

If you end up running out of all supplies and all ways to charge your batteries don't leave your Grands behind when you're on the run. A slingshot loaded with a Grand would make for some awesome head shots in a pinch. :p

Ha! Very true!

I'd make sure to grab my Native American flutes, one of which is made of resin, so it's weatherproof. Many of my friends are musicians, and would grab their gear too.

It has been suggested that we start a thread for Reonauts who watch The Walking Dead, so I decided to start one.

Obviously this thread will contain potential spoilers, so if you haven't watched the most recent episode, or the series at all, you may want to avoid this thread.

What would we need to do to keep vaping on our Reos in the zombie apocalypse? Obviously the Reos would hold up, but we'd need solar power or something to keep our batteries charged. DIY juice would be essential, we could probably stockpile a base liquid, but flavors would be hard to come by.

Now, onto the latest developments. I didn't like what Carol did, though she did it for the right reasons she should have taken her suggestion to the council. In turn, I don't like what Rick did in response, again, he should have taken it to the council. I'm really curious to see how this plays out once everyone is back at the prison. What will Rick tell them?

Note: Anybody is welcome on this thread, it's not just for fans of the Reo. :D

That was my thinking also, Carol didn't have the right to a "mercy" killing on her own, but Rick had no right to pack her off in a world filled with zombies. To me, he arbitrarily sentenced her to a potentially horrible lonely death. That's why I said he didn't play nice with others, which, to my way of thinking, wasn't giving away anything about that eppie, it was just meant as a teaser and my own personal sentiments, sorta to "wet everyone's whistle" and wonder why I felt that way and,so, anxious to watch the eppie. And I will continue to do so.

Besides, i don't like Rick:)I hope the council gives him "what for"!

I like all the current characters, though some more than others. Rick's decision will definitely have repercussions, I can't see them accepting a full-blown Ricktatorship again, after this.

In turn, I don't like what Rick did in response, again, he should have taken it to the council. I'm really curious to see how this plays out once everyone is back at the prison. What will Rick tell them?

1) Carol is a murderer of 2 of their group. She did not know that they would certainly die. Prior to the apocalypse if Rick had arrested her, she would have been tried and she deserved the death penalty. He did her a favor by providing her with her weapons and provisions and letting her leave. Had she gone back to the prison, both Daryl and Tyreese had already said they would kill whoever murdered Dave and Karen. If what is left of the group would have held some kind of trial, Carol would still be guilty and a penalty imposed which would have been death or banishment. Think about who was on the council? Glenn and Sasha - sick. Hershel is in the medical field, he would have voted guilty. Daryl expressed it, guilty. There was no one left on the council to find her not guilty. So Rick saved not only Carol's life, but everyone else from having to do the dirty work and making a decision "they could never go back" from. He thought long and hard about it as shown when he was packing her gear before the run, and with everything she said while they were on that run.

I am more worried about Glenn. The producer in an interview said that this flu was modeled after the 1918 type that kill not the old or young, but the healthy adults. Kind of like the one I saw a few years ago where no matter what we did, even with all our modern ICU medicine, they died of SARS. A father of 2 young children, healthy and a manual laborer, got it and nothing we did could save him, but the kids lived as did his father. And that stupid run to the vet school to get anything with "cin" or "cillin" is sadly wrong, they need antivirals not antibacterials as influenza and colds are viral. The writers screwed the pooch on that one as anyone in the medical field could have told them. Antibacterials may help any secondary infections that arise, but won't help them one bit with this one. Hershel's elderberries have more activity against these types of illnesses than any antibacterial will. So hopefully Hershel will have saved them.

Since Glenn dies in the comics being beaten to death on the groups behalf (reminiscent of the scene in Woodbury) I fear it is his time. Maggie is most likely pregnant so that spells out Glenn's contribution, but I don't think Maggie will do the suicide scene since Beth did that at the farm. That stupid vignette was done at length because the network wanted to save money in the 2nd season since there were so many episodes scheduled. Filming indoors is a budget saver, and they were told to do more inside shots. Look up Darabont and how he left the show. On another note, Darabont's new show has him using Jon Bernthal in Mob City premiering December 4th. Frank Darabont's Mob City Showcases Sex And Violence In New Posters

2) If I found out some adult told my kid to lie to me about something that adult did, they would no longer be trusted around my children. No one needs adults teaching their children that it is okay to lie to their parents about anything and that includes lies of omission. She should have just let the chips fall where they may and dealt with Rick if and when it came up. The interview with Andrew Lincoln cemented how Rick felt about it (and I just love his accent!). Rick on the show even said he would not trust her with his kids if she were the last person on earth.
The Walking Dead “Indifference”: The Ending Explained By Andrew Lincoln & Melissa McBride | Comicbook.com
"In explaining what Rick was thinking, Lincoln said, “The final moment in Episode 3 I had the overwhelming sense when I was doing it that I didn’t recognize this human being Carol. I was like, ‘Who are you?’ She’s in charge, man. You look in the first episode. She’s giving directions to everybody. Daryl, you need to do this, you need to do that. She’s telling my child to lie to me. Ultimately, the deciding factor is my family. It boils…it distills right back down to that again. And I go, ‘Can I have you around my children?’ That’s why I leave her by the roadside.”"

3) Rick kept checking his rear view mirror on the way back to the prison. Because you don't get to "go back" from the things you have done as Clara said. Hopefully he will handle this bombshell better than he did telling everyone that he killed Shane and that everyone is infected. Since the members of the council are pretty much incapacitated (either sick or exposed), he will most likely be taking over the Ricktatorship as he leads the survivors to "Terminus" as heard on the radio by the group that went to get meds. Though Daryl is a great soldier, I am not convinced he is a good as a leader and he will follow Rick as everyone else will (even Carol admits he was a better leader than she gave him credit for). Throughout this season Rick has been told that if he wanted the leadership position back, it was his. I think there were no less than 3 references so far.

I wonder what Terminus is going to be? Another Woodbury perhaps? Alexandria safe zone? or more like The Sanctuary?

Anyone have any thoughts on that stuff ^^^^^

I have already lived thru glen dieing once, I don't think I can bare a second. The one thing that didn't make me throw my copy of the walking dead comic in the air with disgust was that he would live on in the show. If glen dies, i'm done with the show, ok maybe not, but i'll be very very upset.

I will be upset if he dies from the flu! He is supposed to go out being beat in the head until his eye pops out dang it! Though he did make it to the Safe Zone in the comics, so maybe he will live to see "Terminus".

Crossing fingers and toes, knocking on wood he does!

They have made so many deviations from the comic that I hope glen is spared. I'm thinking he has built too much of a fan base to be killed off now. But that very fact also has me concerned that the writers would kill him off because it would be such a shock. Also, the show keeps coming back to the comic's storyline so he might just be killed off. ugh, damn this show, damn it to hell.

I wouldn't have been so concerned had they not brought up Maggie possibly being pregnant!

Have you read the Woodbury series? It was supposed to be a trilogy but the last one is a "Part One". So that means they are milking it for another one at the very least.
And DAVE if you find your way here, I still have the 2nd and now this one to send you when I am done reading it ;)

I was also hoping they would put out another book like they did showing how they did everything as compared to the comics. I have that one at the condo so don't remember how many seasons were in it, but I think just the first?

How do you like the extra episodes they are doing, like "The Bicycle Girl"? I liked the storage one, they brought the Grime's family into when they go through the pictures and clothes of Rick and Lori's. Sometimes it is nice to see the backstories.

It was a close call,
Sitting in the back of the room with the boy... get on
But they didn't know,
Closing on my back, I feel safe at times
Certain emblems tell me it's time

Serpents in my mind, looking for your cries
Everything changes
I don't want life to this time

You enjoy sucking on dreams,
so I will fall asleep
with someone other than you,
I had a thought, you would take me
Seriously and listen up

Serpents in my mind,
I am searching for your cries
Everything changes, in time you'll stay, frozen in time
garaging girls, controlling minds
You hold the mirror, to everybody else

Serpents in my mind, trying to forgive
Your cries
Everyone changes, in time
I hope he changes, this time.

Great discussion! True, Rick did spare them the trouble of having to deal with Carol, hopefully they will see it that way.

I am wondering about Daryl. Here are the things I think about his reaction:

1) Rick kicked Meryls behind and Tyreese's, which is something Daryl couldn't do. That right there makes him sort of 2nd fiddle to Rick, at least psychologically. Sort of survival of the fittest male through combat? That also puts Tyreese behind Rick on that totem pole.

2) Even though he may not have agreed with everything Rick has done, they work very well together and Daryl knows it. Not to mention he left her before to go with Meryl.

3) Daryl clearly stated he would (I forget the term he used, but maybe shank?) whoever killed Karen. Rick can use that if Daryl raises any objections to him sending Carol away while he was gone. Another reference to "you can't go back", Daryl can't take it back just because it was Carol. In any case, he couldn't follow her as she drove off and no one knows where she would be.

As for Tyreese, again he got beat by Rick so he will have to accept it. He won't be able to go after her either for the same reason above. Rick did him a huge favor by sending Carol away!

As for Hershel, he always said he would listen to what Rick had to say on the matter. Especially pertinent is the Randall affair when Dale was trying to convince him to spare Randall he said he would let Rick decide.

Sasha and Glenn are moot, as they are too sick to even be consulted. Beth will just say "you don't have time to be sad, just do what ya gotta do". Maggie might object, but she has bigger problems if she is pregnant with Glenn being sick. And I think she is, or they wouldn't have brought it all up. I think she lied to Glenn so he would not do what he did the last time, when they went to town and he chickened out of fighting because he was scared for her, or so she might think.

So who is left to get upset? Or to give him a "what for". It is Rick's group, and has been since Atlanta when he took over from Shane. He just needed a rest, as Carl said. Rick is on pretty solid ground here. And if they don't like it, they can leave and I am sure Rick won't hesitate to tell them that.

Someone must have different opinions and thoughts right? Tell me I am wrong! I want to hear other opinions and why!

I think Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister will ultimately be fighting each other for rule of the 7 Kingdoms. Then Arya Stark will thwart them both and totally dissolve the nobility and kill off the worst of them.

I'd rely on a generator in a bunker somewhere to recharge my batteries for my Reos. Eventually, I'd have to track down Rob to see what solutions he came up with so we can vape after the Zombie apocalypse.

Wouldn't just buying a solar charger be easier? I wouldn't be vaping after the plague. I would be dead. I can shoot both a bow and a gun, but I can't run. After I take out as many zombies as I can, the last bullet will be for my brain.

I will leave you all the address to my condo which has over a liter of 100 mg/ml nic in the freezer, and the house address which has a at least another half liter of nic, plus more of premade juice that DH uses, atties, REO's and batteries with all the various things needed to rewick, tucked into the storage under the stairs. The generator and gas are in the garage, along with 5 motorcyles so you can take your pick. Keys are on the key rack in the hallway. If the dog and cat are alive, feel free to stew them, we have cases of costco food stashed in the pantry by the kitchen as well as the garage. I would suggest using the canned tomatoes as a base, and putting the parts in the cast iron pot which is on top of the convection oven. The grill in the backyard has another proprane tank next to it, and a side burner. After they stew a while, throw in some peas and green beans. Spices are in the drawer next to the fridge if you want to add some flavor. Good luck.

ETA: and if you paid attention to a move made by a popular VG juice maker who uses REO's, you would know that this is the edge of the city, and the juice maker lives about a mile away. They must have oodles of nic and flavorings there, plus they are all solar so off the grid ;)

I don't pay attention to the juice makers. Just leave a map to their compound. Thanks for the supplies. I've always maintained that it will be easier and more fun to loot after the fact rather than prep beforehand.
