How often do people do a full on cleaning of their Reos mods? I have 3 of them - a Mini 2.1, a Grand, and a VV Grand... all with RM2s. I can't keep up with them all. I'm pretty vigilant about dunking the RM2s and drip tips in 93% isopropyl alcohol about once a week. Main question mainly centers on cleaning the juice bottles and tubes. Also, curious as to how long people go before they discard their ejuice dregs. That stuff can look pretty nasty at times.

Thanks,

Tom

Well....I'm sure it varies greatly among our ranks, but....I never really clean my VV Grand because I pretty much use the same juice over and over. I'll dump the dregs every couple of refills, and wipe out the drip well with a Kleenex, but that's about it. It doesn't seem to get dirty, and I NEVER mess with the tube because I either don't change juices, or (if I do) don't care if my juices blend.

With the Grand and the 2.1, about once a month or so I'll take out the bottle, the battery, and the atty and run it under the faucet then reapply Noalox. I sometimes don't do it once a month (sounded good) but do it if the firing pin starts sparking....then I file it an Noalox it. I never mess with cleaning the tube (don't care if the juices blend/mix) but I do empty the dregs in the bottle every couple of refills.

Short answer: not all that often. :)

Welcome, Tom :)
To be honest, I hardly every clean mine. I'm super lazy...but once the performance starts to noticeably change, then I'll clean them. Drip tip gets cleaned every few days. As far as the tubes go, they get cleaned when I do the entire mod. The bottle itself...well, when I was running my Chalice, I was having to rinse the bottle on every refill. But now with my RM2, I hardly ever need to rinse...so maybe every week or so. What it all boils down to for me is that I clean on an as needed basis. You could probably relax your routine a bit. :)

Can you just run the RM2 under hot water, both pieces after you unscrew? Thanks.

That's exactly what I do.

As for the REOs, I'm a clean freak, so the exteriors get a daily hot water wipe down with a bounty duratowel. Whenever I see a trace of dust in the spring area, the bottle and RBA gets removed and the unit gets a hot water bath.

As for my VVG, same wipe down, but I only run hot water very slowly in the bottom third of the REO. Nine near the cup or top (electronic) portion of the unit.

Never had to noalox or file the pin either. These bad boys look and work exactly like day 1. :)

Drip tips and RBA Caps also get rinsed in hot water daily :)
