FWIW, I found (vaping at 1.8 ohms), that I could vape the AW IMR 18650 (1600 mAH) batteries down to around 3.8-3.9v before I noticed a significant dropoff, I get the same dropoff with the Sony VTC5's at around 4.0-4.1v. I have NO explanation for it, and the battery comparison charts would seem to predict otherwise, but that's what I'm seeing.

Using the same battery and same ohm coils take readings at the coil posts of the voltage while you fire. Do readings with fully charged battery and when you notice the drop. This will show the total voltage drop of the mod, RBA and battery, allowing you to compare. My guess is the Reo has a slightly higher voltage drop and that's what your seeing. You can slightly lower the ohm of your coil to compensate

When I first got my REO, I had also just gotten new VTC5s that I had never used. I noticed a significant drop after 4.0V too. I thought it was the batteries and was disappointed with the Vape time I was getting out of them.

Several days in, I noticed a lot of sparking. I hadn't used any noalax at that point so I put some of that on there. I was then able to get 3.8V before they dropped off...
Decided to put the vtc5 in my nemesis to see how it vaped in that and it kept going well down to 3.6V... So I'm thinking I should get the same outta both. I decided to test the voltage drop using same battery and atty... and tested the resistance of the REO vs my nemesis. There was .03 difference on the voltage drop (so negligible) and the resistance was the same.

So I took another look at the REO more closely. I had a button cover on there, but didn't have it installed with the string to keep it on well. That positioned the button cover slightly too low, and I wasn't getting my firing pin to make a full, solid contact with the flat vtc5. Installed the button cover properly, and boom. Full Vape down to 3.6v. Noalox + proper button cover install. AND it hit much harder with fully charged batteries than it had previously.

Got to do myself another correct rebuild just now. This is the first one I ever rebuilt back when the new contacts came out. Not knowing any better and THINKING I was doing it right, I installed the center post with both gaskets on it. It worked well so I did my other one that way too. I CORRECTLY rebuilt the other one few months back because I noticed juice inside.

I figured I just got lucky with this other one. Well my luck musta run out a week or two ago. I noticed a little juice on the top corner of the Delrin block. There was no juice on the outside of the mod that might have run down. Upon closer inspection I could see where tiny juice droplets were visible where the block meets the back of the mod.

I know that's not right so I loosened the screw and slid the block down and there was a nice amount of juice collected in the back of the mod trapped by the Delrin block.

So I tore it down and CORRECTLY rebuilt it - putting in the silicone cup gasket first, then gently sliding in the post with the Teflon wafer on it. The only parts needed were the post and gasket assembly and nipple. Firing pin, bottle, bottle top, button, hose and spring were all in like new condition.

Here it is post completion of the most challenging part of the rebuild :)

Also included in that photo is the virtual ashtray given to me by the humble tiki bar dude while I was in Destin. It remains behind my battery in that mod at all times.

The moral of the story is if you see juice in your mod and it looks suspect, look for the source or send it to Rob. A juicy mod is a lower performing mod.

I find the most irksome part of the entire thing to be superglueing the tube on. That took me about 3 goes.

I thought i'd just miss that bit out - after all the tube will hold on and then the crap and dust will seal it on there. Wrong. One huge squonk from my rhino claw and juice all over the inside of the mod. WTG Trunky.

So I got my grand in late August, just a few days ago I noticed the button was starting to get sticky. The grand itself wasn't performing up to my standard so I watched the cleaning and maintaining video. Then this morning I gave the grand a bath, scrubbed everything down inside and out, and ran water through the 510 and button. Once it was all dry and put back together, man what a difference...works the same as it did day one. I plan to bathe the grand about once a month from now on. Took a small file and hit up the pin and applied a little noalox too, it works like new again, so happy.

When this thread was started REO's had the old contacts. Filing was done to improve contact.

Now with the new gold plated contacts you should NEVER file! It will remove the gold plating.

You can use an old eraser or some alcohol to remove any buildup on the contact point.

Old Contacts: File
New Contacts: Don't!

Cool, thanks for the heads up. I used my wife's old finger nail file that was pretty dull and it didn't remove any plating. If anything it slightly scuffed it up

a little alcohol on a q tip works for me . If it was really dirty a white pen eraser with the q tip and alcohol to clean it up

Guess I'll put my problem here:)

I just received a mini.2 from the classies. It had a delrin button cover on the firing pin. Looked the mod over then depressed the button.....it wouldn't return to original position and was immovable. Took off the delrin button, tried to push gently on the firing button,,,nothing, frozen. Tried to move the button left and right, thought maybe it was in the lock position...nothing, it's frozen.

Help!!!
