If you're using drop in coils (ie: a complete assembly that you put in your tank and replace as needed) then usually that's highly depending on a multitude of factors like how many mls you put through it per day and such for which i can't really help at all.

If like me you're using rebuildables, then for an easy indication i've used the same coils in a setup i had for about 4 months before even considering replacing them.

Sorry i can't be more helpfull but someone with more tank knowledge will surely come along :)

PS: last time i used a tank i was switching coils about once every 1-2 weeks depending on how much i vaped and what kind of liquids.

Replaceable coil heads for a clearomizer tank do need to be replaced periodically. Some can last a week, to 2 weeks, to 3 weeks, or up to 4 weeks. Much depends upon: the juices you use (sweet or darker e-liquids are hard on coils), if you chain vape, the make and model of the coils you're using, or if you use an extremely high wattage setting.

Coil quality varies widely from brand to brand and model to model of tank. I've read the the quality of SMOK coils leave much to be desired.

I usually replace my coil heads when the flavor becomes muted, or the vapor begins to taste burnt or unpleasant. I don't use a particularly sweet or dark e-liquid or vape at high wattage settings with my Uwell Crown coils and I usually get a month or so coil life.

Always thoroughly prime a new coil properly before installing it into the tank. For the first half of the tank with a new coil, "break in" the new coil by lowering your usual wattage setting. After vaping half a tank of e-liquid, you can resume vaping at your usual setting. Most novices don't prime their new coils adequately or break them in properly. The below tutorial is applicable for any type of tank or coil.

If they look anything like this it's probably time to change your coil.:)
Flavor and vapor has always told me.

Good evening guys, taking into consideration that i detected some minor taste distortion,I would like to ask when is the right time to replace my coil, the coil has been used for around 10 days, should i change it every once in a while or?
Hi,
Which coil are you using?
How many ML have you vaped with that coil?
Overly sweet retail juice may contribute to shorter coil life.

Although I did change everything in this one (coil was probably cleaned before) I would usually get away with burning and rewicking my eGo-C coils when they'd look like this.
But this is the look when I notice the flavor and vapor goes and I can't get it back.

The general rule is "when you notice a significant change in flavor or vapor production." What counts as "significant" is something you'll have to determine for yourself. How bad do you want a fresh coil, vs. how bad do you not want to pay for a fresh coil?

You'll have to develop your own system. Many drop in coils will decrease in flavor and vape production prior to developing a burnt taste. You can certainly continue UNTIL you develop that burnt taste if you so desire. At that point, your coil is pretty much done. The good news is, (unless perhaps you are dual using still) the burnt taste needs zero description. Although to me it tastes like "death." Trust me once you encounter it, you'll know.

As far as coil longevity, what really counts is how much liquid you are running through the coils, not how many days you are vaping it. Juice also matters, and chainvaping is a great way to shorten coil life, also. There are things you can do to increase coil life, although some juices are just coil killers period. Also, some tanks and their coils tend to have a reputation for more longevity than others.

The main thing though, is if you are enjoying your vape, and your coils are lasting a decent amount of time, you should just carry on as you are doing, and change your coil when it gets burnt. After that first "burnt" coil, you may find you wish to change them a small amount prior to that time. Etc.

Best of luck,

Anna

Are you priming before using? Squirt some liquid over the cotton inside and out to get it well saturated. It could also be you're settings are too high for your draw rate.

I don't have that atty but I was never able to use a TFV4 stock coil enough to use it up, I'm not a big fan of that type of big lung power hit vaping all the time but I would think similar coils would last the same.

To open is a tough one sometimes. A rubber jar gripper may help if you have one. Sometimes I use 2 towels to get a grip. I've even put something in the air holes to get some leverage while using something for grip on the other end.
