An even 40 boards....~20 Fuji, ~12 Kodak, ~8 Other....all striped and caps discharged

It didn't take long at all strip them once I got them figured out and system going

for some reason i cant get a stabilized volt reading on 3 flash boards i tried with a combo of various added caps and different combos. the more caps i add, the slower the volt drop, but seems to always drop...faster with less cap.

Sounds like there is leakage somewhere. What is the common link between the 3 boards that you tried? The test connectors/leads? The additional caps? Have you tried the 3 boards with only the cap thats included? Do you have a defective DMM? can you try another meter? Is it a cheap meter? Perhaps the impedance of the meter is too low and causing it to discharge.

all im gonna say is thank god for you man...cant believe youre STILL trying to help me troubleshoot. i owe you like 97 beers. :toast:

i did try without any additional caps fresh from a new camera (same exact one that you had), just the board and the clips. im trying every combo, eliminating all the variables. only variable i forgot about was my meter, i do have another meter to test it with....if thats it, im gonna...

also, your accent is amazing in those videos break...i could watch that and listen to you say "spaaaahkk-o-matic" 1000 times. hahaha.

Whatcha expect, I was born and raised in Brooklyn

Any way, I just came out from my workbench and tries something. With my meter from the videos on 1000VDC scale, it's rock solid. On 200VDC scale it slightly and slowly drops.

I hooked up an old Cheap-o DMM that may have cost 5 bucks, the voltage drops considerable on all VDC ranges. So I'm assuming the impedance on this junk is low.

I tried a cheap Anolog and it was rock solid on all VDC scales.

So.......... I would bet it's your meter that's draining the cap

Dude, that thing is pretty sweet. Where are you getting the displays from? What would the dimensions of the box be?

There is a link somewhere in the thread...I have bookmarked at work and can add it tomorrow. The box is modeled as a 2"x4"x1" project box, but I'm not 100% sure everything will fit. Also breaktru made a good point cautioning against using the screw post as it might nick the wire and damage it. I will probably just use a fixed brass alligator clip instead.
