Hey people!

I'm having a little problem with the rba section on my subtank mini..

I'm only just getting into building and this is really confusing me..

The ohms reads 0.4 but when I fill the tank it drops to below 0.05

Is that a normal thing or am I missing something completely?

Can anyone help?

My guess is your coil or a lead is touching the inside of the chimney. Test your build with the chimney on prior to filling.

Sorry I never said, my chimney was on when I got the 0.4 reading...

I built it all up, wicked it and put the chimney on.. Tested the resistance them filled the tank up and got the 0.05 and my mod won't fire that low.

Whatever you do, don't put that on a mech until problem resolved.

1) Check the leads, make sure they're tight.
2) Make sure the leads didn't get snipped when tightening them down. (most common issue)
3) make sure the 510 connection on tank is in full contact with 510 pin on mod.

I'm not going to use a mech.. I've got a kbox mini and an ipv d2 that I will be using. I wouldn't dare put it on my mech anyway even if it was working fine ha

Leads are the wires sticking out at the edges of the coil... they go into the posts, where you screw them down. If you over tighten you can snip them because some screws are sharp. Sometimes if you snip them its hard to say that you did so, since there's no visual cue, but a ohms drop is a good sign. Youd have to rebuild the coil if you snipped them.

Ahh right I get you now, I never knew that part was called a lead.

If I'm honest I might have tightened them down a little too much.. Oh well, the joys of building I guess

It sounds like it's shorting from the coil hitting the RBA cap. The coil may be sitting too high between the posts and making contact with the cap when you screw it on. Happened to me before.
