Here's the letter I got back from one of my Senators. I'm sure it's a form letter but at least I know he got mine. Just not sure if it came from FreeToVape or CASAA. No way to tell I recon.

Thank you for contacting me about potential regulation of "e-cigarettes." I appreciate hearing from you.

As you know, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for tobacco Products is considering the scientific and public health case for whether to regulate e-cigarettes as part of its authority under the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. FDA points to the lack of wide study of e-cigarettes to determine how much nicotine they contain and their safety level compared to regular cigarettes. FDA expects to announce its intentions this year and has more information on its website at Electronic Cigarettes (e-Cigarettes).

While adults may purchase nicotine products if they so choose, FDA has a legal and public health obligation to keep these products out of the hands of young people. I will be sure to keep your views on this issue in mind as this process moves forward.

Thank you again for contacting me.

Sincerely,

I received the following:

June 23, 2014

Mr. Maurice F. Pudlo
XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXX
Louisville, Kentucky 40214

Dear Mr. Pudlo,

Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns regarding the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) proposed regulation of electronic cigarettes. I appreciate hearing from you on this important matter.

As you may be aware, the Family Smoking Prevention and tobacco Control Act is the primary framework through which the FDA regulates the manufacturing, distribution, and marketing of tobacco products. Most recently, the FDA issued a proposed rule that would extend their regulatory authority of tobacco products to include electronic cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, nicotine gels, waterpipe tobacco, and dissolvable tobacco. I understand your concerns, and you may be assured that I will keep them close in mind should legislation on this matter come to the House floor for consideration.

You may be interested to know that the FDA has requested comments from the public on this topic. You may find the proposed rule at https://federalregister.gov/a/2014-09491. Comments must be received by July 9, so I encourage you to comment through the Federal eRulemaking Portal at Regulations.gov (FDA-2014-N-0189) or via postal mail at:

Division of Dockets Management (HFA-305)
Food and Drug Administration
5630 Fishers Lane
Room 1061
Rockville, MD 20852

Thank you again for sharing your views, and please do not hesitate to contact me again regarding any other matter of concern. The only time I haven't received a canned response was when I wrote the the Gov. of TX about my student aid being denied because of an arrest (not a conviction). Then what I received wasn't even a response from Perry, but someone in his office. Calling our reps offices or sending them letters w/ information would likely have more weight behind it.
