Lets do the math another way....

I have this spool of wire that will give me 0.1 ohms per wrap. So if I want to build a 0.5 ohm single coil I'd need a whole whooping 5 wraps.

If I were to take the same exact wire and build me a 0.5 ohm DUAL or parallel build I'd need 10 wraps per coil to achieve 1.0 ohms per coil and 0.5 ohms in parallel.

The dual coil build has 4X the surface area and mass of the single coil build requiring more power to heat up and vaporizing more juice.

If you want less juice consumption use less surface area and less power.

I'm getting it.

In my experience there is much more to it than that. Dual coils at say 30 watts will go though about the same amount of juice as a single coil at 30 watts, but it's not the same vape. These setups will have some combination of different heat flux, heat capacity, wire gauge, you get the idea.

I've found the biggest factor for juice consumption is power applied. Yes, there are other factors too, but the number of coils did not make much difference when I experimented with it.

The single wick will consume the same volume of juice as a dual at a much slower rate ................. not the same vape ? well gee let's see, maybe because it's not as dense from NOT absorbing as much juice @ a lower wattage ?
Sounds to me like dual coils are perfect for "you" ....................

Still not understand why you are battling people over choice of using Dual coils?
If Single coils are your preference, would it not be just as simple to say< I PREFER > rather than worry over another persons choice?

Honestly, you keep using partial build references to prove an un-provable point.

Single Coil builds will not necessarily use less liquid than Duals. That is strictly on Build parameters and usage.

A single Coil build can deliver Great results as can a Dual coil build.

I could easily put a Dual coil 2.0ohm build against a .5ohm single and kill it for consumption..............however the test would likely be pointless as neither is what I prefer to vape.

I'm not sure what you're getting at sparkky1. As I said I compared using a (good for me) single coil and dual coil build at the same watts and found they used about the same amount of juice per drag. They were both good vapes, similar flavor and vapor production, but not the same vape.

That was my experience and I took what I did from it.

I agree, if you run dual coils at twice the watts of a single coil you'll probably use around twice the juice, that's why I used the same 30 watts for each in my experiment. But if you use a single coil at twice the power of a dual coil build the single will use more juice. Watts and atty design matter much more than the number of coils used. This is of course assuming we build appropriate coils for the vape we want at the watts we want to vape at.

It doesn't really matter for this discussion which I prefer and I didn't mention which I prefer. Both are good options for me and I really like triple coil builds in a good atty too, but they will all tend vape a bit different at the same watts. I do have a preference, but that is my preference only. The great thing is we can all experiment for ourselves and see which is better for us
