4.5 V is the best for PT USB. You will get 3.7-4.0V on PT output. 6V will give you around 5.3V.
Works with 2.6-3.2 oHM cartos/atomizers. Total cost:12-15$

Just get one with 2000-3000 mAh. It's works with 1200mAh Ok but loosing current and power occasionally due a circuit protection (lowing a voltage significantly).

I just discovered that 5V/1A adapter works great with USB 3-6 FT extension cord. W/o the cord 5V would burned atties and cartomizers very fast.
