For those guys having issues with getting the resistance high enough, couldn't you go to a thinner wire? Or is the flat stuff not available any thinner?

I'm going to try cutting the wire in half. That should do the trick. It takes some time to get the coils cooking at .08 mm wide with a 5 wrap, 0.9 ohm.

I have the kanthal d (.5x.1mm), 4 wraps comes out to 1.2ohms. Using it on an aga-t2. Wonderfull vape. Better vapor and flavor than the round kanthal resistance wire that I've tried (32, 30 and 28 gauge). Got mine on ebay, shipped from germany.

Kidney Puncher has the Nichrome 60 Ribbon Wire, haven't tried it yet, but might give it a go.

does anyone have a chart or a rough estimate of resistances of kanthal ribbon at certian mm/wraps .. ive been trying to get into that since someone told me the more surface area covered by coil produces more vapor.
The diameter of the wick also determines the resistance of a coil.

I've finally made a couple of good setups. 1 ohm coils. Pushing the amp limit on my Provari's. The vapor and flavor is a whole new experience. I've noticed that the ribbon has not gunked up at all also. I ordered some thinner stuff to up the ohms though. Great stuff!
The thing I like about the ribbon is when coiling my AGA-T+ I do not suffer the hot spot issue at all.
