Wattage is (only) determined by the setting you specify on your regulated device?
Only in your dreams.;)

batteries, vg, pg, & flavors every few years -- that's all -- praying in between that they remain available to us and the mods hold up.

Batteries, chargers, wicking materials, resistance wire, PG and VG and other DIY supplies will be available always. Flavorings--depends. FA (which I use exclusively) can't be banned because they technically make food flavorings--they may have to be careful with how they describe their flavors, but they are not going anywhere. Other flavorings, specifically made for e-liquids, may encounter some difficulties. But Bull City Vapor changed their name to Bull City Flavors some time ago in anticipation of the Deeming Regs.

The only truly unknown at this point is nicotine.

I'm not quite sure what part of my post that youve referenced, you dont understand or dont agree on?
It's very easy to specify comments out of text which appears to be what your doing although why you are is unclear.
When someone specifies that resistance determines the wattage on a regulated mod, that is not true. It's completely correct and the only way when using a mechanical (unregulated) mod.
As the OP referenced his regulated mods, that's why in response to the post I said that resistance has no part in battery drain calculations and the wattage is adjusted by the on board controls.
Not quite sure on your last comment when you've added "Only" in my comment about wattage. It's not in my dreams. When I want to adjust the wattage on my regulated mods, i do what everyone else does and simply use the up/down wattage controls on the device.

I'd go for the Mod 101 variable wattage option.

Purely because when you use a unregulated mod, your wattage is determined solely by the resistance of your coil. And this wattage will drop over time as your battery is used.

    An example:
You vape at 20watts on a regulated mod.

An Ohm's law calculator tells me I'd need a 0.88ohm coil to get 20 watts with a full battery (4.2v). However batteries don't stay full for long. So you may instead use 3.8v (a battery roughly 3/4 full) as a target to figure out what resistance you need. Entering in 3.8v and wattage of 20watts, gives you a resistance of 0.72 ohms.

So you build a coil of around 0.7ohms. With a full battery your wattage will be roughly 25watts. It will quickly go down to 22watts, stay there for a while and then when your battery gets a bit flatter, you will be vaping at 20 watts. Your battery will drop again after a while, changing your wattage to 18 watts. And finally after a bit longer it will drop once more to 3.4v. Your wattage would then be 16 watts. At that point, you'd have a weaker vape than you like - so you'd swap your battery for a full one.

With a variable wattage mod - You choose the wattage yourself, and it will stay at that wattage.

    Hi @Fstop,
Both the EHPRO Armor and Mod 101 are pretty good devices but are different in their operation.
The Mod 101 is a regulated device so will allow you to vary the wattage to suit your vaping style, upto its limit of 50W.
The Armor is a mechanical mod with some regulation (semi mech) so the wattage you vape at is governed by the resistance of the coil you use.
@AngeNZ has given a great explanation as to how it will perform.
Both are good but different. Just depends what type of mod you wish to go for.
Hope that helps? Come back if you have any questions.
