I love reading these posts and learning new things. I'm going to try rinsing out carts again, maybe after 2 top off firsts. How ever rinsing with hot water is going to do nothing to kill any bacterial in your cart. For bacteria to actually die, the hot water would have to be at a temperature above what your skin could tolerate. Most people can tolerate a temperature of 110 degrees for little bits of time, but that's the most we can do. To kill bacteria with hot water alone is not feasible when you are handwashing items. You would have to boil them for at least 5 minutes to kill any bacteria
I have no expertise on any of this, but if there were any bacteria in the batting, wouldn't it be killed once the liquid is vaporized?![]()
