Riva Atomizer Proper Filling. Help!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!
I just received my Riva kit which came with atomizers and blank cartridges. If anyone has a link that will help me understand the process, please, please let me know. I've tried looking everywhere I could think but to no avail....

I don't know whether I'm supposed to drip directly into the atomizer or whether I am supposed to be filling something into the cartridges. There was no filling inside the cart. Hopefully I haven't busted my atomizer already but if I did... live and learn. I dripped directly into the atomizer - some on the bridge and some around the sides... maybe about three or four drips. I then put the blank cart on top. For a few minutes, it vapes great then I start to get a very slight burnt smell at which time I add a bit more juice.

Is the burnt smell normal? I've heard about primer for new attys. Should I have gotten filling for the cart so I won't somehow burn out my atomizer? Am I not adding enough juice? Any help or links you can provide would be great. What I got out of it was awesome but if I am killing it then I need to stop my rampage. Thanks!

You fill the carts drip by drip untill the top of the cart looks slushy, not pooled. It takes @12 drips(or more).

Oh, and the cart on the atty is just to protect the atty. Your blank carts(I hope you have em) will have filling in them. You can use a tea bag mod in the protective cart to use it if you have not ordered blank carts. Also, you can drip a few drips on the atty and replace the cart, and just redrip as needed. The nasty taste is due to the primer fluid they put on attys at the factory, you have to blow the atty out into a paper towel to get rid of it.

Thanks for your response! See, that is where my problem lies... the carts were completely blank... no filler inside. That's why I was confused. I looked at it and thought well, if I pour anything in here, it's just going to drain straight down into the atomizer. I'll go through my box again though in hopes that maybe I see something that looks like filler. I have fish so I'm familiar with Fluvall. I only have regular tea bags though, not the new pyramid shaped kind.

Being a newbie to vaping, I have been using a cartomizer (works great) but really wanted to limit that to during the day when I only have breaks and lunch but have something wonderful for night.

If you know of any good how-to videos, let me know. Confusion ensues but someday, I'll get this. Thanks for your tip!!! The info really helped me to understand.

Note: I found the filler. I checked the other cartridges and they did have it inside. When I pulled the cap off, the filler must have gone flying out. Found it, reinserted and now... perfect. Stupid mistake but lesson quickly learned.

LOL. Awesome! Glad you found it. BTW, I don't use pyramid tea bags, just regular tea bags(cheap from the dollar store 100 pack), works fine. Doesn't burn at all.

I watched these videos too. They were great reviews and made a lot of sense but I just couldn't figure out what I seemed to be doing wrong... in my case, user error all the way. But, even with dripping on the atty, it seems like I'm still ok and learned a bit more.

The Riva works like a charm now (despite me!) with the cartridge. Hope you enjoy yours too.

I also blew out the atomizer to see if the nasty burnish flavor disappears. I'll definitely be doing that BEFORE adding liquid to new attys.

I have to say... if it weren't for this forum and it's great people, I might have given up. You are all awesome!!!

Debb, you are going to love it. I can't stop using it! Flavor seems a lot more.. clear? If it wasn't for everyone's help though, I'd probably still be fiddling. Hope you enjoy as much as I have been.

Strictly E-Juice is LA based, which should work out well for Fresno. And they ship free on orders of $10 or more.

Oh no... not that!! It's worse now with all the tv spots about being a Fresnoptomist. lol Hello fellow Central Valley vaper! It's nice to see someone who's a little closer to me. You can relate then when I say that a hot atty is still cooler than a summer in Fresno or better yet, "this juice puts out as much vapor as valley winter fog". hehe
