I was wondering if we could get a sound off on the ego fans and the Riva fans ?? It seems to me that they are essentially the same unit with one (Riva) being cheaper and more powerful ?? I also am fully aware of the "You get what you pay for curse" so . . . in an effort to keep that from being the case I wanted to get some feedback on these 2 units !! Thanks all

Very interested in the differences myself.

I have a Tornado, a rebranded eGo (same manufacturer). Battery life is very good, I'm getting 6-7 hours per battery while vaping heavily. It looks good, the throat hit and flavour are good (but these are atomiser dependent so not really relevant as you can always switch to Joytech atomisers or whatever). It's comfortable to hold, easy to operate and really a good starting model in my opinion.

I'm very happy with it.

I think they are them same hardware.

So it realy comes down to who has the better warrentee and who do you think is going to take care of you better if you have a problem.

Cheaper isn't allways better if you get something DOA out of the box and the company you bought it from blows off your e-Mails.

If I was you I would buy an eGo from these people....

Joye eGo

Vicky and the entire crew over there is great to deal with and would take car of you if you have a problem or a question you can get answered on the ECF.

Please expand on the "improved button". I have read the same thing elsewhere, but with no explanation. I have Janty eGo batteries, and have not had issues with the button.

Of course, now I've cursed myself, so I'll probably be emailing Ethan later this week...

As for myself, I prefer to order from Janty to (1) support their continued design efforts, and (2) for the warranty that they, and ONLY they, will offer on it due to #1.

But, if there really is substance to an improved button on the Riva, I might consider it.

Suppliers (e.g., EastMall, Vapor Junction, and NHaler) claim that the Riva is 750 mAh (compared to the regular eGO/Tornado's 650 mAh). I've read nothing that contradicts that. I also have read that it is fully compatible with the eGO (and therefore eGO bells & whistles like eGO attys/carts/cartos). Vapor Junction is selling the full two-batt, two-atty kit for 50 bucks.

Unless I'm missing something, it seems like a no-brainer.

Could you possibly be missing the warranty?

I dunno, maybe stuff is made better today than it was over a year ago when I started, but back then, having a warranty was a huge selling point, and I took advantage of it often.

On the other hand, a bit longer battery life is nice too. Yet on the other hand of that, my Jantys last an entire day. I'm not so lazy yet that I can't charge at night.

I'd still like to know more about this alleged sticking issue. Like I said, I've not experienced it, and if I did I would have the battery replaced immediately (seeing as how I have the warranty).

People, please, let's not turn this into a thread of "my button got stuck, yada yada yada". At the risk of hijacking the thread, I'd really like to know WHY people say the eGo button sticks and the Riva button doesn't.

I have both. I prefer the riva button. My husband said yesterday he thinks he kinda likes the ego button better. I got the ego battery from Tasty Vapor for $15 (no warranty) just to try it out about the same time I got his Riva kit from Nhaler. I like the Riva better, so ordered a battery for it from VaporJunction. Very happy with all so far. I interchange them, or I have so far, but he may keep the eGo one now. We'll see. As far as vapor production, throat hit, I find more variation depending on which atty I have on and which juice I'm using. I haven't noticed one battery lasting longer or having higher volts (although I haven't checked them with my multi-meter. They all work, are consistent and dependable and I'm not swapping out to charge every 2 hours, which is nice.

The Ego button seems to be a little more sensitive to temperature. After a few dry burns on one of the batteries it began to stick. Tried rotation of the button and that worked for a while and then it had to be shaved a little to keep working without sticking.
The Riva button, so far, seems to be more forgiving due to the heat created by the atty. It's button is a little smaller and not contoured. I find it easier to find by feel than the Ego button.

Just got a Riva in the mail on Friday. I wanted something smaller and lighter than my pipe mods for going to parties and such.
This thing seems really well made. The buttons work well. No sticking, nice solid click. It doesn't have the voltage of an 18650 on a fresh charge but it's OK. I just held the Fully assembled Riva in one hand and an 18650 battery in the other and the Riva is lighter than the 18650 by itself so it's a LOT lighter than a hunk of copper with that big honkin' batt in it.
I never used an eGo but I'll bet it performs about the same as this Riva. I don't see any reason to pay more.
