Your pics are too small for my old eyes to see whats going on with your build.
I don't "overwick" since I don't need a lot of wick in a BF that is so easy to keep it saturated with, make sure my coils are high enough off the deck to be clear of wick or puddled juice obstruction, and I drill out my air holes for more air flow for my long lung hits. With the coils themselves completely free and clear I have no problem at all getting clouds of rich vapor.
