Well, at least this contest has answered the what to read next question I was struggling with :). I'm going to have to hunt through the house for all of my Heinlein books tonight since I'm 20 pages from finishing the Terry Goodkind series I've been reading. Now the problem is which to read first....ARGH!

Indeed, congratulations to MRJAGUAR!

I'm proud that the eight answers I submitted were correct. [I was too lazy to look up the others.] Obviously, MrJaguar didn't need to look up story payments or makes and model numbers of the Stone family's spacecraft (or wasn't as lazy as I). I am impressed ... and I consider myself quite the Heinlein afficionado.

NOTE: As I pointed out to pintail64, Evelyn Cyril Gordon wanted to be known as 'Scar' not 'Scarface'. The line was: "Oh, Scar, I guess." Which, as readers of this thread probably know, Her Wisdom misinterpreted as "Oscar." [Bragging: I did not look that up.:D]

He is correct...I was not sure until I got into my book this evening...I had based my question on the plot summary of the book. My apologies to all.

CONGRATULATIONS TO pm2006 for peeking on my desk to see what book it was. LOL

Now I can take it off....it was getting in the way..

Wow... tough questions... i wish i had seen this days ago when it happened :) I might've gotten the which book is on your desk question right since The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is the most recently read for me.

Just saw this thread, oh well! I love Heinlein, my dad got me reading him and first was Stranger in a Strange Land. Wasn't a big fan of The Cat Who Walked Through Walls though, it seemed like he was losing his touch a bit towards the end. After I read "Glory Road" I wrote him a letter asking him if he was going to write another looooonnng book. I didn't send a self addressed stamped envelope for him to reply to me with but he wrote back anyway. It was a form with various responses on it that he could check off the appropriate answer on. He checked off "Thanks for the self addressed stamped envelope, a rare courtesy these days!" (My face turned red when I read that one!) At the bottom though he wrote " Yes, a looooonnnng one" and signed it. I still have that letter tucked into one of his books somewhere. This thread makes me want to go search the shelves for it!
