For sure Damian! Welcome to the group. Hope you'll be able to make the meet-up in January....it should be a good time complete with a small gift exchange.......Its always been a good time with all these guys! (and soon we will convince you you need a Zen Red Rocket.....or a Blue Meanie or some other mod that mike has invented......but it's all good LOL)
I'm seen the pictures of the Red Rocket- that thing is a monster!!! What is the Blue Meanie?????
The Red Rocket is not as big as it appears. If you take 3 AA batteries and line them up it's actually a bit shorter than that...and not much wider.
The Blue Meanie is about 1/2 a Red Rocket running 3.7v instead of 5v.

There will be about 10 more Blue Meanies made, I have 3 ZRRs left to sell once I put them together.
The BVD... Blue Variable Device... Single Battery, buckboost circuitry, variable voltage from 3.2-5.7v, that's whats on the horizon... Probably mid-february - early march.
I'm about half done designing the BVD circuit, I'm still deciding on the switch, but it's gonna be gorgeous. I'm trying to take things to a new level, possibly with really high end, outsourced machining.
there are several decaf brands that taste just as good as regular, Mike....LOL. you ARE a man on a mission. that's good though. i'm gonna need to get a 3.7v device from you. red rocket and i aren't friends (still gives me headaches even at 3.5 ohm resistance). not to mention, the end cap has a bad (intermittent) contact, so it doesn't even work all the time.
