I think the most fearful factor of ecigarettes is that Propylene Glycol is a compound used in antifreeze. But the FDA has approved it as generally safe as a food additive, and it's used in various drugs to deliver medication like asthma inhalers.

Well, the thing that antifreeze is most known for is Ethylene Glycol. That's the stuff that poisons.

Then there's Polyethylene Glycol, which is a much bigger molecule, and is used in some types of laxative which doctors give the patient to take (yes, orally), the day before a colonoscopy.

Propylene glycol, the stuff used here is also a bigger molecule than EG, so nothing to worry about. (...and besides, there's always 100% VG-based juices for those who prefer that.)

If anyone wants to look it up, there are glycols and alcohols (but also plastics resins [polymers - chains of many identical molecules] like polyethylene and polypropylene) of many of those hydrocarbon gasses (Ethane, Methane, Propane, Butane) and they are all quite different in their uses.

P.S. Oh, and before i forget, i did see a car "vaping" a little over two months ago, when i was driving home late in the evening. At first i thought the guy was burning oil and would know what to do, but the person just kept driving down the (fairly busy) street, until the light turned yellow, which is when i opened my window to smell the plume that was sort of reaching me a little.

It smelled like water and tasted slightly sweet (not sure why i took a breath with my mouth), so i immediately knew it was the radiator aerosoling its contents.

I stopped and decided to ask, and was like "do you need any help?" and realized that the driver was a blonde highschool girl, with her sister(?) there too.. and she says "no, we're fine, the car just died"....

You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make them drink.

The light touch is usually best in most situations, suggest, but don’t nag, be happy yourself with what you are doing, but don’t push.

Same could be said for a lot of things having to do with e-cigs

The more adamant and militant you are, the more you will undermine your own goals.

Then you can post a thread about "what to do when your roomate vapes all your best juice" or whatever...lol.
This is soooo going to be me. My roommate already told me he "wants to try" mine. Asking over and over what flavors I ordered. "If it works for you I'll get one too"....Thinking I need to order a couple extra "manly" colored batteries and cartos and get some more juice ASAP :D

Yeah, someone needs to make a mod out of an old empty hand grenade.

I don't understand. What does the molecule size have to do with it? Why does that mean nothing to worry about here? I don't know beans about chemistry.

I know someone like this. She has an e-cigarette but refuses to try it. Her excuse is "I'm trying to quit, I don't want something that makes it easier for me to smoke!" - so she continues to smoke while talking about how she plans to quit. I explained the upsides to her, but it was a waste of effort.

What bothers me more in some ways is people I know who will take over one of my 510s for hours at a time because they don't feel like going to the store to buy more cigs, but who'd never consider buying their own PV. Same with people who want to use mine while they are in traffic to avoid having to dig their lighter and smokes out while driving - but then light up the instant that we're at a long light or reach our destination.

More for me, I guess.

Ethylene Glycol is a small molecule that if ingested, can get everywhere, and causes kidney failure and death.

PG or PEG are large molecules, which even if they get in the body, can't disrupt any of its inner workings, and usually come out the other side in one piece...or in case of the lungs, just out, without getting into the bloodstream
