Yesterday, on a whim I soaked that switch(completely submerged) in isopropyl alcohol for several hours occasionally pushing the button down a few times while soaking. I let it dry overnight and this morning it's firing like new. Worth a try.

You said that you soaked it in alcohol and it worked. The switch contacts are sealed, most likely, you're dissolving the gunk around the button that's preventing the switch to full depress and not cleaning the internal switch contacts. That's why I recommended the mineral oil for full switch travel.

It's not bad advice bushmaster, Sounds like you dissolved maybe some old gunked up juice around the button allowing it to free up the stuck off button.
The alcohol is good to get the gunk out, follow up with a drop of the oil. Not only will it allow easier button operation, it will keep the juice from gunking up.

I use a roughstack and my switches will get screwy after a while, it's the nature of the switch beast unfortunately.. But when it stars not firing, I press it really fast 20 or 30 times.. Seems to clear it out a bit.. But if that's no help, please log a ticket at MadVapes :: Support Ticket System stating that your replacement switch lasted less than 3 weeks and hoog told you to log a ticket..

thanks.. hoog :)

DUDE! I love you! Have been using a midi for months now without a single hitch! Recently started to get misfires...imagine my despair. Quick search and this worked like a champ! Thanks for saving me!

Thanks for this thread and the info on misfiring switches. I am a switch killer. I have a box mod that was only firing after 5 or 6 presses and I thought it was done for and I read through this thread and tried some of the things that people suggested and now it is back to working flawlessly. I pressed the button rapidly 30 times and then gave the switch one drop of gun oil and pressed a few times to get it inside and it worked great. Thanks everyone!

I've given the mineral or baby oil tip to many who had great success with it. I'd be worry about gun or machine oil damaging the switch.
Vegetable oil would probably be okay too.

Perhaps used switch does not have perfect seal?
Would be interesting to see switch internals.

I just ordered roughstick but didn't order spare switch.
I feel ok because I see cheap switches on ebay that may work.
For example:
2 PushButton SPST Momentary Normal off Push Switch,R107, 3AMP = $1.99 (Free Ship)

My RS started acting up if atty not screwed in just right.

Upon investigation I found the spring to atty socket was not making a consistent connection.

I ditched the spring and replaced w/ wire.

Dabbed RTV silicone inside cap at potential leak points.

RS is rock solid now.
