RTA that behaves like an RDA?

I got the Hannya rta in tonight, really liking it also. While it's not the Beast that the VCMT is it's really a very nice Vape. That and I love the postless build deck

So far out of the tanks I have it's a close second to the VCMT, very close.

Well, I got my Bellus today about an hour ago. I've only gone through a half a tank so far, so I understand I need more time, but here's what I found so far:

Pros:
- It looks GREAT.
- I love that you can take the build deck out without disassembling the whole darn thing
- Threads are very good
- Machining is superb
- Airflow ring is excellent. Smooth and versatile
- It hasn't leaked a single drop

Cons:
- The juice fill holes aren't terrible, but it's tough to fill from a standard bottle tip.
- I'm running a 1.0 ohm single coil setup on 2.5mm ID, and I can't seem to push it past 17w. I know this isn't bad for some people, but I'd run 30w on my RDAs with that coil. I get dry hits on the Bellus if I go over 20w.
- I rinsed the entire assembly under hot water before building, but I still got a nasty machine oil taste for the first 20 hits or so. Gross!
- The airflow isn't that great with single coil, but it may be my build (read below)

Overall, it's OK. I think I need some time to figure out how to wick it better. I took some advice from a few videos and have my wicks going down about halfway through the juice channels, but they ended up getting stretched to the bottom anyway.

I also might try a smaller build for better airflow. I'm running 26ga kanthal, 8 wraps, 2.5mm ID. Maybe I'll try a 0.5-0.6ohm build with 4 or 5 wraps next.

In addition to what I said above, I would have commented on flavor, but that wouldn't be fair at this point since I still might have some machine oil in there. (It doesn't taste that great yet)

Would recommend the VCMT 30mm tank. Build deck is the size of a 22mm rda deck, I've got 4mm ID dual parallel 22ga coils in mine right now with room to spare. You get some condensation from underneath the AFC but I get no leaking and no dry hits.

I know I'm late to the party, But aside from the silicone Air Ring (I personally like it but alot dont) and bottom fill (again, kinda like it, but others dont),

Aromamizer. Gobs of flavor, large velocity style deck with grub nuts, and RDA like air flow. I have dual claptons at about .5 ohms in mine runnin at 80w, max vg. no burnt hits, and yummy thick flavorful clouds ^^

Course, I dont usually vape at high wattages so it doesnt see much action, but the best high watt vape experience yet for me

The Bellus does have awesome flavor, but the build deck is tight. That and every time you refill it the tank does leak since there is no juice flow control. After I refill it I vape to clear up the leakage, it's a minor PiA but the flavor is great on it.

You may want to check your coil placement. If it's too much in front of the air hole, flow is restricted. If you remove the airflow control ring and look through the air hole, you should only see the very bottom of the coil. If you see the whole coil, you should raise it up. This should hepl airflow and allow higher watts

I did exactly this last night. I also made a 0.7ohm coil with just 6 wraps, cut the wick at an angle, pushed the "pointy" part of the cotton down into the juice channels, and she's running quite well at 20W. Nothing crazy, but it tastes pretty good. This wicking method works better than any of the others I tried.

The airflow still leaves a lot to be desired. I may have to try 2mm coils next time I do a build.

Both, actually, but mainly lung hits (habit I picked up using RTAs, I used to exclusively MTL).

Straight lung is wide open, MTL I actually only have 1-3 of the 16 holes open on the side as the airflow is more than sufficient for that.

Thanks - That's good to know. I'm MTL.

Perhaps the 16 x 2 holes can be slightly drilled out for better DTL if they are the major cause of restriction.

I've considered this. Others have done it. I'm just not sure if I want to risk it.

The Bellus wicking is very tedious. It definitely takes practice to get it right. The further into the channels you go, the worse the wicking will be (in my experience).

I put just enough wick so that the tails sit right on that little shelf you'll see at the tops of each channel. That's literally all it needs. You'll also want the wicks fat enough to extend the length of each channel, to ensure no juice will creep up to the build deck on a refill.

I use 90+VG liquid and wicking this way, never a burnt hit. Hope that helps a bit! Just keep at it!

I have wicked it properly, this is a well known issue. As soon as you open the top fill juice starts flooding the deck. The AFC ring does not seal the air ports well enough.

No, it's well known that it will leak if people aren't wicking it properly. I fill without closing the airflow at all. No leaks. I posted a vid showing this

It sounds like people need to wick it very differently to get the same results. Perhaps the differences in juices are the culprit. I've found that the small tail wicks that sit on top of the juice channels do not wick well. I've also found that the long tail wicks that sit in the bottom of the channels do not wick well. I trim the wick tails so they are thinner than the rest of the wick and kinda "pointy" and place them about halfway into the juice channels and this seems to work fine.

I haven't had a single problem with leaking with any of these configurations though. Maybe it's that I'm using 100% VG, but I'm not sure how people are getting leaks on the Bellus. I fill it all the way with the airflow completely open and haven't seen a drop come out.

I think I made those on 2.4mm. Curernt build is dual parallel 26G KA1, 8 wraps for 0.2 ohms. pushing 60-70W

It's basic physics, the cap is like your finger on a straw, when you take it off the juice fills the deck. The AFC ring does not seal tight when you close so it will flood the deck while filling the tank
