Any time someone mentions talking to any kind of LEO or FED, I show them this video.
Never talk to the police without a lawyer present.
I have known this since I have been able to talk and comprehend. Also taught it to my own son.

Homeland security does not have to present with a warrant. They can do "whatever" they want. This is only the tip of the ice burg. If I was 30 years younger my .... would be headed to Australia.
I don't know how small business can survive in America today.
And my flavor list keeps growing![]()
They are not saying it is illegal to sell flavored nicotine. They are saying I am guilty of lying to a federal agent because I said we do not sell it which is true. The department of homeland security does not know the difference between flavored and concentrated flavorless nicotine. There were around 20 other questions asked about the production of pure nicotine being a risk to the country because it is a poison.
Edit: Funny thing is these guys did not show up in suits like FBI agents on TV. They wore old ripped bluejeans and tea shirts. One Federal agent and 2 arresting officers. Saw their badges. Enough to scare my relatives visiting to go to the mall for the rest of the day because they did not want to be involved.
OK, from reading down this thread, here is what I think may have happened here. I'm just kind of piecing this together, so a may be a million miles off base.
RTS received a buyout "offer" from a big company, and declined. The big company started poking around, and decided to make trouble for RTS, because maybe they figured if you got in some sort of trouble RTS would sell. They had their hot dog lawyers look up regulations regarding the type of processing RTS is doing, and then poked around and found that RTS didn't have some type of obscure certification that they didn't know about, so they called the feds. The feds came out, and didn't like dudes demeanor for whatever reason when he was answering their questions, so they too decided to cause him a problem.
I REALLY hope this all works itself out. You should know that you have a pretty large, and getting larger every day community behind you.
If I were the business owner in this case, my first stop would be the lawyer, and it sounds like it was. My next stop would be elected officials, preferably federal (US Congressman, and US Senators). They should all have offices locally you can go to. They may have the juice to call off the dogs, and also help get the facility into compliance, if in fact it even isn't. I wouldn't be afraid to talk to these people. Your state rep may also be able to help you out. IME, it's hard to find an elected official that is more all about small business than a state representative.
I think it's best to try and nip this thing in the bud before it develops it's own momentum.
I have my doubts that this could have all come together in a week's time from the turned down offer from BT. I'm wondering if some sort of red flags were raised when Randy started with his Senator about the postal service. At first they were ready to kiss Randy's backside to get the postal problems sorted out. Then this week he had all those meetings with Post Masters, etc.
Very odd and disturbing news.

You play this Any Way you want.
But If I had been approached by LEO's and questioned, I don't think I would be posting details about it on a Public Forum.
My suggestion is to talk with your Lawyer again.
Have they demanded you to cease or anything else?
Other than inspecting, what else did they ask of you?
I am sorry this is happening to you and the other company. I hope people will help fight this.
Yes, the FDA has demanded our Charlotte subcontracted laboratory cease extracting nicotine for us.
I am posting it in a public forum so ECF knows what the heck is going on. My current attorney says I am screwed most likely because we do not have the funds to fight the federal government who will appeal any court decision they do not liken to the supreme court.
Very well out thought process you state and might be right on. Looking for new attorney because this one advises to surrender business to stay out of prison on trumped up bull.... charges. Only good news is we have a major competitor experiencing the same problem and we have agreed through our common credit card processor to share a solution. This competitor is a forum supplier on ECF.
