Wicking was very easy. Cut a strip add Japanese organic cotton, twisted one end and threaded it though the coil.

Screwed the ring on, the top on it is just below the top on my coil.

Cut the end about half way between the chimney and the atty.

Fluffed the ends a bit and pushed them in the area between the deck and the chimney, juiced it and away I went.

I rewicked today (changed flavor), had I thought it, I would have taken some photos.

I did set the juice flow wide open for a while yesterday without any issues. Closed it back to half - why temp fate. The channels from the tank are outside the ring and juice flows up to the wick from a gap unter the ring.

2 days of use and this is my favorite tank I've owned (kayfun lite, squape, cthulhu 2, crown, STM, billow V2, GEM). Taste for me is on par with most.

I did notice yesterday that after opening the deck (to show to a friend) I did get a couple of drops of juice where it screwed together. Did appear to be a leak, maybe pressure pushed it out. Not really an issue, required a wipe off.

I can't speak about a dual coil build as that isn't how a vape. It does look a bit small. I might try it sometime but I doubt it. I'm generally a lazy vapor and want something that meets my needs without too much effort. But, I'm also too cheap to use replaceable coils (did that in my protank days).

My only complaint (minor) is lack of detents on the airflow ring. It does generally stay where I set it - about 3/4 closed.

@BulletStopper Thanks for all of that. It sounds like it's an rta for me. I would like to try dual coils on it. I saw 1 review, but it was in a foreign language, and the guy did duals but instead of t-ing up with the screws, went parallel to them, and though I couldn't understand the language, he did seem quite content with his vape from his facial expressions : ) Will the juice flow hit from all areas underneath the ring?

I saw the same review with the dual coils. I believe it was in German, which I only spoke a few phrases many years ago.

This photo is from the UTC website, showing the build deck, chimney and AFC ring.

You can see the threads where the chimney screws down around the deck and the lip which limits how far the chimney screws down. The juice flows into the chamber along the flat spot. Similar method to a Kayfun or STM V1, but significantly larger area.

Received mine today from VaporDNA and I am very impressed. Build quality is not quite as good as my V4 but the flavor is quite a bit better imo. On par with the GEM and Erlkonigin. I did a single spaced coil 8 wrap of 29 gauge coming in at about 1.6 ohm mounted like a Kayfun with the AFC about 1/7 open and I am getting some very flavorful and satisfying MTL hits.

Airflow is too much for me to satisfy M2L hits .. And tried to open only little part of airflow (like 1/7 of it) and its near to be OK .. but, also i am vaping rapidly, and it is getting extremely hot after 4-5 hits with 3sec per/hit when you close many part of airflow ring. And airflow ring is not tight enough to stay stable, its always moving and need to adjust again and again ..

I finally decided to jump on this, ordered it this afternoon. I'm a kfv4 guy and love that airflow, how would this compare if anyone would know. I build single coils and just got my first single coil of TI done yesterday, and purchased SS from same place. I just need the numbers or file for the dna 200.

I got my Russian V 3.0 yesterday. It's a good looking device with the matte finish in my opinion but quite a bit larger than I expected. One thing that is really unacceptable to me, at least for the device I received, is that the air flow control ring is so loose that even lightly touching it causes it to move. If others have a Russian like this I highly recommend that putting a small bit of teflon plumbers tape under the ring is a good idea and really a necessity unless you are inclined to bend the air flow ring out of round in an attempt to get a bit of friction so the ring doesn't constantly float off position.

I did a dual coil build first and by the time I was through I was about ready to throw the Russian v3.0 in the trash. ;)

It's possible to do dual coils of course, but it was probably one of the most irritating builds I've ever done. First there is very little room to accommodate the coils. Second he wick ends have to go over the top of the terminal screws and bend around to get in the juice wells. The wicking material from four wick tails (even when generously trimmed and thinned is really excessive making for generally tight/poor wicking.

I finally made it work with dual coils but I won't be doing it again.

With a single coil oriented so the wick tails go directly in the side juice wells I don't understand the logic of the Russian V3.0 design.
The air slots are aimed at the ends of the coil where the temperature is naturally lower and leaving the hotter center of the coil somewhat starved for air flow / cooling.

I have only completed the single coil build a few minutes ago and the vape seems at least decent but I'm left wondering if that center section being much hotter over time is going to make the build/wick life relatively short. Only time will tell.

If this atty is really intended to be a dual coil atty then in my opinion there are many competitors which are more convenient to build and outperform it. If it's expected to be a superior single coil atty then I don't understand the logic of the air flow design.

If someone has a rationale for the design concepts both in dual and single coil mode pass it along. I would appreciate it.

I just got mine in yesterday, got the stainless brushed one? I really wanted the other one so badly to match with my rulo. Bead blasted? That one looked cool. I have a single coil TI build on it now and seems to work good, I wish the airflow would be a lil tighter. The airflow ring is really loose for a $100 atty. I heard someone say plumbers tape, I gotta find me some of that.

Vapin' Art has them in Stock now as well for $79.95.
Probably pull the trigger on one from there tomorrow.

How did it perform with a Single Ti build in TC? That's what I plan to use this for exclusively. Appreciate your opinion and Input.
Mark Todd said in his review that he had done a Ti Build and the Resistance was steady and sure. Said was quite nice.

Ti Master druckle,,,
Given all your noted "Cons/Negatives", would investing in one of these for exclusive use as a TC Ti-built RTA be a waste?

Russian received. Decided to Kanthal build it and mate to the Innokin 134 MX-Z Mech I got for Christmas. So, built a Dual-Coil (not near as hard as I had anticipated from Reviews and such) out of 26ga. Two 7/6 wrap on a 2.38mm Bit which yielded a 0.39 R. Wicked 'er up, filled 'er up (50/50 12mg Nic Peach), turned it upside down with the Juice Flow closed for @ 10 seconds, then opened the Juice Flow, turned right-side up and attached to the Mod, and lit the fires....
Nice but then she started dry-hitting on me.
Shut off the Juice and removed the Coil-Base (easy and an AWESOME Feature on this RTA :thumb:) and sure enough-almost dry Cotton.
Realizing it had to be in my Wicking (have never owned or built a KF but did mess with a Lemo 2 for a brief time till gave it away) being "Too Much". So, I looked up the German (?) Dude's Review on the ol' YouTube and sure enough, I was thinning it out but had left the Wicks too Long. Seems it needs to terminate at the Ledge on the Build Deck and not all the way down to bottom of the Chimney/Juice Trough at bottom of Base.
Re-wicked correctly, screwed it back together, opened Juice Flow fully, turned it right-side up, attached to the Mod and lit the fires again...
Very Nice indeed.
Hit it all afternoon watching the Rams/Seahawks Game and ZERO Dry-Hits.
With that Build, Wicking, and Juice with Air-Flow opened halfway and Juice on Full this thing hit great, plenty of Vapor and good Flavor too.
I prefer the Flavor with a Titanium TC Build for purity of taste but this was quite pleasing and acceptable none the less.
So overall and so far:  for the Russian 3.0 from me.

Got a CoilMaster 521 Tab as well and this thing ROCKS to build, test/check, and fire on as well to dress the Coil. Good weight and size for a Build Platform and with all its Function; Another

The Innokin 134 MX-Z is a pretty nifty, well built prime example of Innokin Quality (about time they finally produced a Tube Mech!), damn fine looking (IMO) and good hitting little Mech (true 99.5% Silver-Plated upper & lower Contacts). Picked it up from a local Authorized Dealer B&M for only $43 which is an Awesome Price (again, IMO) for what it is compared to others in its Class. Good Size, Weight, and Feel which compliments and packs a large RTA like the Russian very well.
Put my 13/9 RDA on it for a bit too and it rocked this similarly built RDA just as good as any single 18650 Tube-Mech I have ever owned.
I personally dig the unique Locking-ring Design and Function.

Thanks to all here for the Thread, the Advice, and the Input.
