Pretty weird. Underneath the coil, between positive and negative, should there be an insulator?

Looks everything's in order. To help you along, it should be the the chimney Base, juice control ring, glass, plastic ring, top ring, rubber gasket, nut, O- ring and finally top cap.

As for your question, yes there's a gap between positive and negative. And the insulator comes in 3 piece.

There should be a rubber seal holding the glass. And finally for 50/50 juice, I have it at 2 or 3 clicks.

The Reef just off the Florida coast
Which o-ring to replace?
If you don't see a specific problem with any particular o-ring (use magnification), just replace all of them. If it leaks out quickly, it is almost certainly an air leak. Air leaks are usually caused by a nick, a minor fold, or a tiny bit of dirt on an o-ring.

Hi all. It's my first post here on ECF. I have the Russian 3.0 v2, and just like Cloudyweather, it's been leaking on me ever since I got it. No matter how I build it, how I wick it, it leaks from the AFC. And it's not a few drops, it will leak the whole tank empty in a matter of seconds. Everything is tight, every part is in order, everything removed and assembled again exactly the way I got it. Still leaking continues. It's a beautiful tank sitting in a box. Just too bad I can't use this beauty the way it's meant to be.. Like what Cloudyweather said, so sad...

Yes, small ring after nut and the flat gasket before.

I think it is a flaw to design the O-Ring to be place after the nut because it is easy to lose the O-Ring, don't you think so?

Also, I find that by tightening the tank, it will make the JFC tighter and difficult to open and close the the JFC.

Has anyone try putting the O-ring before the gasket, wouldn't it give the same purpose of sealing or vacuum the tank?

Yes I did close the JFC before filling it. Close JFC, remove top cap, fill tank, close top cap, open JFC, see juice emptying itself from the tank.

Perhaps you need to give more information like your built, juice ratio, lastly read this thread from page 1. I think there is a lot of guidance here. If still fails contact your seller.

This posting is to share and be made as reference for other users.

Yesterday, my mod slipped out of my pocket and without realising it the glass cracked. So just now I cleaned out the tank and inspected the O-rings. For the Russian 3.0 v2, there are actually four (4) O-rings, two thick rings cushioning the glass and 2 slim ones sitting at the filler/top cap and the chimney base (at the base of the thread).

Through touch and sight I notice the new O-rings are thicker than the ones came pre-installed. With the fresh rings I realise it is a little thicker and causes a gap at the top cap.

Will observe how it behaves and report back for the benefit of other users.
