After some rest, my coordination has returned. I was able to tighten the center pin. So much, in fact, that I bent the forks of the spanner wrench. A lot of (expletive) good that did. After installing a few coils, the positive block has started turning again, when tightening the positive lead. And of course, now the airflow tube protrudes farther than I think it should. Not so much as to get in the way though.

On the brighter side, I was able to achieve stable readings of 1.6 ohms, on my SiD at least. I am out of time this morning. I have to get ready for work. More fiddling when I get home tonight. Perhaps I will even clean, fill and vape it.

When I tighten the center pin from the bottom, I hold the positive block to the negative block with a pair of needle nose pliers. I have to do this with the v1, also.

I was wondering if I was the only one having issues with the new v2. I've been searching for the last few days trying to find something. Not good. Readings are all over the place.

Yep...that's why I started this thread.

I purchased 2 v2's at the same time and sent the second one to a friend who is not on the forums. I received a message from him today that his is doing the same thing.

Well, I just built a new coil; same gauge wire, same interior diameter, and same number of wraps as on my V1. Before I built it I really cranked down hard with the tool and I think the block is as tight as the block on my V1. It should be in the 1.1-1.2Ω range.

Black box ohm meter: The lowest reading I've seen is about 2.6Ω. I've seen it read this coil as high as 5.5Ω without any intervention from me other than turning it on and off.

iTaste VV V3: When I first attach the V2 base it reads at around 3.9Ω. If I dry fire then test again, it reads in the 2.8Ω range.

On my Opus D (DNA20): The reading is stable between 1.7 and 1.8Ω but it fluctuates between the two if I remove the V2 and reattach it, or if I dry fire it.

VAMO V3: 1.6Ω.

Multimeter: 1.4Ω. I tried pressing the spring loaded pin in and out and wiggling it around while the leads were making contact with the positive and negative screws and the resistance didn't move.

I should mention I can flush mount this V2 on every single device I have (including my black box ohm meter). I actually don't feel much resistance at all before the base comes in contact with the top of the mod (or the 510 if it's raised above the top cap). With my V1, even with the pin screwed into the 510 connection so it's snug, I can never just keep screwing it in until it bottoms out.

I tried putting a 510-eGo adapter on my black box meter and lifting the post inside as far as I could. The V2 still bottomed out on the adapter and I got the same readings as before. I then tried putting two of the really tiny o-rings from my V1 spare parts under the spring loaded pin; I felt a little bit of resistance when attaching it to my devices, but the readings were still higher than they should be (although slightly lower) and I could still bottom out the 510 connection.

I'm really hoping someone can find a simple fix for this. It's very disappointing considering how much I enjoy my R91 V1.

I did that also. I could not tighten the center pin enough, with hand strength alone. So, I grabbed another pair of pliers and used them to hold the spanner wrench. I was able to get about an extra half turn, on the center pin, before it felt truly snug. Even after that, the positive block twisted out of place, when I installed the 4th test coil.

Yep got one that does the flaky ohms...I am guessing here that the wire used for the spring portion of the 510 adjustable pin might be made with resistant wire which would cause a fluctuation possibly.

I will wait to see if the V1 screws will fit when i breakdown V1. another thing is the 510 drip tip is oversized and if you try another tip ya better have a bigger oring and it still might be sloppy.

I would have been much happier with the V1 myself had i known these problems.

I found when I press the center pin all the way in I get a accurate resistance reading on mine. The center pin on my sentinel clone won't press the pin on the russian in far enough but on my nemesis i can screw it in until it stops and it seems to be working fine. It seems to be working fine on my EA clone also.

I agree. If I had know about these problems, I would have bought a V1 from the classifieds.

I contacted my vendor and they also said that the V1 center tube can be used.

If you don't have a V1 center tube, they suggest screwing the atty onto your device. Then, unscrew the atty 1/8 turn, then tighten it down again. They said that this seems to allow the spring to reset giving a more stable resistance.

I have not had any more time to fiddle with my R91 v2. Maybe after I get home tonight.

That seems like a crap answer they gave you. One year warranty I thought on these?

"I am very sorry about this issue. We are currently working with Kebo to try and get these things fixed, in the mean time if you do have access to the Russian V1 center pin these will interchange. Please check back about this issue. We have been trying to find a solution in house and we hope to get things cleared up asap. I have gone ahead and added you to our email list about these issues."

Hope, there is hope!

NOMB, but, what ever happened to something that addresses the issue of customer service like, We are sending you out a V1 overnight for you to keep while we work feverishly with the vendor to resolve these issues..." And a gallon of Boba's....:D

I must be old school..

No, that sounds about right to me. My local B&M would do this. Maybe no Boba....
