Made a batch of Ry4 Double 8% awhile back, steeped it for 3 weeks in amber bottle, tasted perfect turned nice dark color.

Most recent batch 8% used different Vg (from walmart), used a crock pot on warm 4 hours 125 degrees, steeped 18 days in amber bottle tastes good but is clear.

Both batches had exactly same percentages 70Pg, 30Vg, 10%Nic, 8%Ry4D TFA

Any ideas?

I've never used Humco VG and don't heat steep either. RY4D is my EDV. I make it 100ml at a time at 8% with1 drop of AP per 5ml. Sometime I add 2-3% Caramel and Vanilla Swirl for a sweeter treat (I put part of the big batch in a 30ml cobalt blue glass bottle for daily use). I should mention I use Essential Depot VG & PG. Mine always turns a yellow/golden color. Not sure why yours didn't change. As long as it tastes good, then it's all good in my book.

Cheers,
Steve

^ same as above i use humco and medical vg, no differences in, when 3 weeks they both are amberish..
Dbl RY4 always changes color at about week 3 even if you dont mix it well it will still change color at tha flavor level, something is wrong here. lol

--->strange more; I just purchased some dbl ry4 monday, did the normal 8% and tucked one away for a long steep two-5 months and taste tested today my smaller 3 week steeper and whoa its ready to go already with just a day steep no color change. Strange indeed it usually takes at least two weeks to have that much zing in flavor..

I did mix it for 4 mins and I usually only mix for a minute or two. I use a back massager.. I put a towel over the prongs and hold the juice at an angle between the two prongs and it mixes the juice better than any shaking will.

I buy mine from WL, bought quite a few 8ml bottles there. I'm about to get a bigger size directly from TFA. This is at least the second or third time recently that I've heard (read) people saying their's had no taste or no color change. I'm starting to wonder two things:
1. Where are the people who are having issues purchasing it from?
2. Did TFA possibly change the recipe (I truly hope not)?

Just thinking out loud here, I haven't heard of any such change. Definitely not trying to start any rumors.

Cheers,
Steve

I assume you meant 10mg/mL nicotine. 10% nicotine would be 100mg/mL.

don't think it would be a shaking issue. If you used 10% and the mix is still clear after 18 days steeping then flavor is a dud or the nicotine is a problem. Is there an odor and color to the actual concentrate flavoring (Not the mix)? But all is not lost at least you say it taste good.

Tastes great. Nic is pretty new from WL. It was the last of that vial of flavor, I'm going to mix more with a new bottle of flavor and try that.
Thanks Danny!
