I recently purchased some RY4 cartomizers from Steve, and am not getting very much vapor out of them. First few puffs are ZERO vapor. From there it improves to the point of break in puffs of other flavors and gets no better untill the "burnt" taste kicks in. They taste good, but no vapor/throat hit is a problem. They also didn't seem to last very long. Maybe that's in my head though. I was puffin pretty steady trying to make them work. I'm using auto batts from, dare I say, CigEasy. One of the carts was definately my fault due to baking it during break in. I've refilled a couple of them with different juice and vapor improves. I guess my question is "is the RY4 normally short on vapor, or am I screwin somethin up?" They were 24 mg carts, in case it matters. I really hope it's me kuz I think this is THE flavor I'm looking for. Thanx in advance.

Wonder if you got a bad carto - are all of them acting like that? Are you taking a quick primer puff followed by very long slow easy draw? I am not a Ry4 fan, but the ones I have tried have been good as far as vapor and throat hit. Is the batter fully charged?

I too really like the RY4's. I haven't noticed any less vapor compared to other flavors but they do seem to pitter out faster than the others. The RY4's have a delicious but more subtle flavor and I think it just fades away faster. If I ever question if it's the battery or the carto going out I plug the carto into a passthru. That'll tell ya every time ;)

I don't have a passthrough yet. Ordering one today. The primer puff didn't help these ones. I think it was a combo of bad technique on a low batt. Couple that with the inherent impatience of a nic fit and you get a fried cart. I hate weddings... Learned a new trick though. If you find a cart that's slow, or acts dead outta the box, give it a drop of a good juice down the atty. Let it sit for a second or two and try it again. Seems to "wake them up" like you guys said the passthrough does. Can't wait to get mine. Battery shuffle is not my favorite game...

I too was not getting as much vapor on my RY4 cartomizer and noticed it on a couple other flavor cartomizers. Popping the cap off and comparing them to the good ones revealed that the padding material was lower (more packed) in the one ones with less vapor. So, I took a straightened paperclip and slid it through the batt hole all the way into the tube and out the top end. I grabbed the tip and made sure it was snug and loosened it up a bit circling all the way around the cartomizer. I then left the paperclip in there to make sure the tubing does not move. I took my tweezers and grabbed a handful from the side and pulled up. I did this about 8 times as I turned the cartomizer clockwise. That solved the problem and as a bonus I got more drops of juice in there. Now the bad carts have more flavor and vape.

Now, I do the same thing to all the carts when I refill them with juice. I even plunge (up/down) the padding material a bit to get the juice all throughout the material. I even leave the batt end open when I drop some juice in. It creates airflow and the liquid soaks through faster. It really tops off the cartomizers with juice. Hope this helps.

steve: posted that then ordered immediately afterwards, then went to work. Just got home. The order number was 5066. There is nothing to "make right" here except my technique, so don't worry about it. I'm not... I noticed today on a new cart of ry that I tend to "power vape" it. It's just SO good. Only been at it for 9 or 10 days, but thanx to this forum (and GrimmGreen on youtube) am learning VERY quickly. Thank you all for your help, and thanks Chucky, I'll be fluffing my wadding on refills now. Makes perfect sense. I love this place!!! :D
