So my VAMO and accessories arrived from smoktek.com today and this thing hits like a freight train compared to the Twists/Spinners I've been using. This is my first mod, but so far, I'm nothing but impressed.

i know I could have saved $10 by purchasing at Vapor Alley, but they didn't have much in the way of batteries available, so seeing as I was able to save the extra shipping from a second order, it all came out in the wash. I picked up a couple eFest 18650s and 2 pair of 18350s, TrustFire charger,2 chrome locking XL DCTs, DCT filling tool, some 2.0 ohm and 3.0 ohm single coil XL cartos, and a 510-eGo adapter (for Kangers).

Here she is, I've named her "Busty" LOL

Anyhow, the locking DCTs are my first carto tanks. And for the price oof only $8.95, are performing well above my expectations. I'm not much of a clero guy, so I'm thrilled to have something with the performance of a cartomizer that I can vape all day on.

Now, from my understanding, the VAMO will perform more efficiently with stacked 18350s, but I'm assuming that as long as I'm not Vaping low-res dual coils or am looking to vape at over 11 or so watts, there's really no need, correct?

Also, am I gonna have to watch this TrustFire charger like a hawk?

Thanks guys.

P.S. I think I may be able to drop my nic level from 24 to 18 with this setup.

They seem to be hit-or-miss. It seems that if they're going to fail, they'll fail right away, and sometimes spectacularly. On the other hand, I've had one in daily use for almost two years now, and it's worked flawlessly. FWIW, it was used when I got it as part of a deal, so who knows how old it really is. As I'd do with any charger, I'm in the same room when it's plugged in and charging batteries.

Are you still getting air through the carto with the locking ring on? I have to take mine off or else the draw is very tight

I bought 2 artemis brands (1 chrome and 1 gunmetal) and noticed the air restriction with the chrome one.
On closer inspection the lock ring on the gunmetal one is slightly convex and the chrome one is slightly concave , allowing a complete cutoff of air if seated fully on the vamo.

Well, so far, so good with the Trustfire. 2 sets of batts charged and it is cutting off right at 4.2v.

Yes, as a matter of fact, the airflow is quite nice and steady. Not too tight, or airy!

I like it...a very clean looking set up...really like that DCT tank! the Vamo is on my short list of new mods ( between the Vamo and Tesla) ...my only concern is they easily scratched surface...so I was thinking same as you...Stainless instead of chrome or Gun metal....

Yeah. The SS is very nice, but a total fingerprint magnet. Probably scratches less easily than the chrome or BC. Im probably gonna get a skin for it, maybe the clear matte carbon fiber. The tank really looks and performs great. Zero leakage so far (knocks on wood).

Get a LiPo Guard bag from ebay. Generally under $5, some have free shipping. Mine took 3-4 months to get from China though...

Also its best to charge on a fire proof surface. Stone counter, concrete floor, metal something.

They have them at hobbypartz for $5.75 and they'll be at your doorstep in a week tops since they ship out of CA.

:)
