I was a half a pack a day smoker and so started off with the Blu and then picked up a Revolver Elite. Initially, it suited my needs just fine but I find that I'm vaping more than I smoked so I'm actually looking for something bigger. It became less of an addiction and more of a hobby.

The point is, you may or may not be happy with your initial purchase because your needs may change as you get into it and find out what works best for you.

I had a lot of trouble picking out my first setup too, so I'll copy the guy the helped me out best I think.

Go to Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store. and get the $35 starter kit. This might not be the absolute best kit for you, but I promise it is good enough to satisfy.

Go to USA Made Vapor Renu and pick out a flavor you like, start simple. A flavor may sound cool, but cool does not equal good. I recommend getting double flavor 80/20 pg to vg ratio, and 24 mg of nic. You may decide to move up or down, but 24 is a good place to start because you will likely on move it up or down one time if at all.

The reason I say it like this is because the more choices you have, the less likely you are to make a decision. Ever notice at the convenience store there are like 10 times as many coke products as pepsi? Coke doesn't actually expect you to choose the other ones that often, they just want you to give up making a choice and stick with what you are used to (which for the majority is coke).

Based on my experience and from what I've read here from many other posters, after switching to vaping, we vape more often than we smoked. The most frustrating thing for me after I bought a cheap (but very overpriced) starter kit was that the battery needed to be recharged every two hours. After a few days, it lasted about 1½ hours. After a few more days, it lasted one hour. By the middle of the 2nd week, it lasted 45 minutes, and then 30 minutes. And about 10 minutes or so before the battery died, there wasn't enough power left in the battery to get throat hits.

I bought two eGos and didn't care that the eGo is a little bigger around than a regular cigarette. By that time, I just wanted a battery that would last much longer. My 1000mAh eGos last at least 12 hours before needing to be recharged. If I don't vape constantly (like 3 or 4 vapes per minute), it will last longer than 12 hours. I've been satisfied ever since receiving the two eGos.

Since then, I've bought 3 different kinds of USB passthroughs. The best passthrough, in my opinion, is the KR808D-1. I plug the cable into an AC to USB wall adapter bought from madvapes.com. It works every time, compared to when I plugged it into my computer USB port, when it would not work every time (because there isn't enough power in the USB port to power the battery).

I (and lots of other newbies) wasted a lot of money trying to find a battery that would work and last for a long time. Forget about the L88b, SS #7 micro, revolver elite, E8, M403. Go with an eGo or possibly the Joye 510 or KR808D-1. Just make sure you buy two batteries that will last 4 to 6 hours at a minimum, or you'll be recharging batteries all day and night long -- and you'll regret that you thought you HAD to have a cigarette-sized battery. The size won't matter to you after you change and recharge batteries every 30 to 60 minutes.

The quality of my hits is consistent from a full battery up until the last puff. You can't even tell that the battery is dying until it is dead. Plenty of TH and vapor (which is more dependent on liquid that you would think),

That's great. I better not comment on the KR808 as i strongly dislike the taste of it... But I know that many people like it.

That is a good point also - many people vape far more than they smoked, lol. I may have to get a huge machine and a garden hose connected to me 24/7... wait, they have those - box mods.... ha ha.

I don't have a KR808 so I wouldn't know.

Opps, thought I saw KR, my mistake. I agree, there is nothing wrong with initially getting a mini. I use my 4081 all the time. Is a mini best for a heavy smoker long term? Near universal opinion is no, including mine.

This is why when everyone immediately says "buy EGO" right off the bat - I always ask "how many do you smoke?".

Last point on this, lol.... i am sure there are plenty of people that like their Blu in the world. Is that a good choice? Uhhhh no.

Try a different flavor in the cartomizer. The battery has nothing to do with the taste. The carto and liquid create the taste.

Perhaps you flooded the carto?

Yes it does, Every type of model provides a significantly different taste - to me at least. For instance, my Dekang tastes horrific to me in the EGO. However, it is bearable in my 4081. I can put the same juice in my EGO, my 4081, and my KR808 and they all have a significantly different taste. It isn't even close.

The Kr has a 3.7V, the EGO and 4081 closer to 3.2 when in use. The taste is going to be different, there is no question. EGO and 4081 are somewhat similar - however, the EGO has far more vapor, therefore, a bit more airy.

That is why I love my eGo though. I can pull hard on it and get tons of vapor or not so hard for less. I can use 510 parts (as someone else mentioned) and don't have to worry about charging a battery constantly. I started out with a standard 510 which is great but, doesn't compare to my eGo.

After all our opinions I'm afraid the OP is REALLY going to be confused now!

LOL, Venus. Maybe. I made a very concise list early on to narrow this down. Work is done on this...

The best thing when choosing the first PV is simply to avoid a huge mistake and buy mall junk...and overpay. Other than that - you will be fine.

You can buy a 510 kit for like $30 bucks. if you don't like it, or isn't enough power, buy something else. Simple.

But you're using different cartomizers in the different models, right? I think the carto has a lot to do with the taste. Some are packed tighter than others. The battery supplies the power to the atomizer inside the cartomizer. I think the amount of air inside the carto has a lot to do with the flavor. I'm getting more flavor using these KR808D-1 passthroughs than I get with the eGo and with the other batteries and passthroughs I've used, but I'm sure it's because the KR808D-1 Premium cartomizer filter is not packed as tight, so more air is inside the filter, which creates more vapor and better flavor. When I vape using the eGo, I get more of a fizzy, sweet taste from the Glycerin, but the filters in those cartos are packed tighter than the KR808D-1 cartos.

Dang you LOVE to disagree on even the smallest point. Geez. Who cares about all that... Point being every model does have a different taste. There is near 100% universal agreement on that. Stop nitpicking every single thing.

Well, I try to provide facts to support my comments, which are not disagreements or nitpicking. Some people might be interested in "why" something is the way it is. Extra details can help others understand better the things they're trying to learn. Basically, sometimes, I fill in the details you omitted. I see you nitpicking in almost every msg you post, without any details or facts as to why you're disagreeing with other posters. Just sayin'...

LOL, that's cool. You know a lot, but you also like to disagree a bit for entertainments sake... Personally I only find disagreeing entertaining after a few beers... ha.

My main point on everything I say on this is from the perspective of a newb. This is the newb section... They need something that is good and works well... right out of the box. Once they are no longer a newb, they can go to the Vet section and have a conversation about the myriad of choices and debate whether a 1,000 Mah battery is better than a 650, or whether a BOGE is better than an SLB. I try and keep this simple... and get them to order something that WILL work and is simple- day one.

If a newb thinks vaping is too complicated, too much effort, etc. they will simply forget the entire thing. This is WHY my list contained 1 box of pre-filled cartomizers. others disagreed as they taste bad. Who cares? That is not relevant. They HAVE something to puff right NOW that is simple. That is all that matters - day one.

I'm a noob also. Trying to decide what to buy was tough. I went with a no box joye 510 kit from Cignot. I love it. 2 batts 2 attys 5 carts a pcc and a a/c charger. 2 bottles of juice for $65.00. I have now ordered extra batts and juice from other vendors. I just ordered some cartomizers today. I smoked over a pack a day for 35 yrs. In the last two weeks I smoked less then ten analogs.

When I was a newbie, almost six weeks ago, I wanted to know what I needed to know to get where I'm at today (or three days ago, actually). I wanted details, lots of details. I can understand almost anything, right away, if there are enough details provided. If I had received enough details on day one, I would have saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars in the first four weeks. That's probably why I tend to go into detail when I respond to questions or post comments.

I'm sorry my comments are frustrating to you, Buss, really I am. I'm not nitpicking you, really. I've found you entertaining, especially when you've drunk enough of those beers, and that could be why I find myself going back and forth with you. We seem to have a lot in common, except I don't drink anything except Pepsi, milk, and water. Oh, and I'm a female and probably older than you are.

hi!

I'm new too. I knew e cig exist just 2 weeks ago.

I got a pretty one that looks like a real cig. That was my first ecig and I kept it for 2 days. http://www.prosmokestore.com/store/images/uploads/prosmokes.jpg
I returned the whole kit the following business day cus I felt no nicotine. It only look pretty and similar to cigs. Despite the size it still won't feel the same. It is heavier than a cig cus the battery and atomizer inside. I couldn't tell you how well the battery perform because I only had 4-5 puffs and gave up, went back to my real cigs.

So after spending time reading here. I got Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo
The size and pressing button doesn't bother me at all. I rather get my nic fix than the looks. I only got mine yesterday and I'm very comfortable holding it. Good luck with your decision and happy Monday! (unless u work weekends :))
