acids such as citric, malic and tartaric acid are ok as long as they dont contain additives or sugars. gum arabic is a large molecule glycoprotein/polysaccharide, not useful for vaping. In general, small simple organic molecules are more apt to be useful in vaping, while larger, complex proteins, lipids, and saccharides are not.

I have a question about Corn Syrup. I've been using TFA's Caramel Original and one of the ingredients is Corn Syrup, just wondering if it's ok (safe) to vape that other than it''s probably going to gunk up the coil faster. Hope this isn't hijacking your thread. I thought it was in the same area as your question so I didn't want to start another thread. Happy Vaping :toast:

Cheers,
Steve

Corn syrup is another saccharide, and the issue with these would be low melting temperatures, caramelization and byproducts produced in vaporization. Even sucralose has come under scrutiny for producing dioxin byproducts at low melting points, and its been used as a sweetener in vaping for years. Supposing it's all relative, depending on quantity over time period, etc, is anything really all that safe? Compared to not inhaling anything, probably not. Compared to smoking cigarettes, probably much safer.

I knew this forum would be the right place, I haven't visited in a couple years. I'm glad it is still the go to place for all things vape. It's always better to ask questions before jumping into anything and possibly wasting money.

@Wingsfan0310: All related questions are welcome.

@MarkyD: Thanks again, your posts are very informative!

I shouldve mentioned making use of MSDS material safety data sheets, google finds them by the hundreds for nearly every ingredient known. These provide invaluable information on the applicability of ingredients, how they behave, and any associated risks. It can help to peruse multiple MSDS from different manufacturers as some provide more information on particular aspects than others.

I'm glad to see someone here as in tune to the MSDS data around here. Not being that technically inclined they kinda baffle me. I think you are going to be a very good source around here for all the "Is this safe to vape" type questions. Keep up the good work.
