Hello all!
Just a little bit about me before I bother you kind people for help if I may..
I am in the US Army and was a moderate smoker prior to enlisting. I am looking to get away from the analogs and nearly spent close to $200 on some shiny ecig at the mall cause "it's the best man"... I smoke heavy flavored cloves or cigars typically and smoke maybe half a pack daily. Was looking at the inferno T and it looks like it might do the trick! Trying to figure out the whole deal on these gizmos still but I think I got most of the idea now.. Not worried about size however battery would be nice. Any do's and dont's from you pro vaps out there for a newbie soldier?

If you are used to the strong flavor of cloves and cigars, I DON'T recommend getting the tank system... too many complaints so far about it having an airy flavor or less flavor overall.

I DO recommend getting the eGo kit (the standard ego, not the eGo-T) and some LR cartomizers to go with it. You might even want to get the 1000mah version because one battery will last all day without having to charge.

Good luck! :)

...and welcome to ECF!

+1 on the ego-t 1000mah, a charger, cartos' or attys/cartridges, juice selection and you should be good to go all day!
Welcome to the forum and happy vaping!

I would highly recommend an ego (or clone, riva, inferno, etc) for you.
If you smoked cigars, you can hold an ego just like a cigar, (NOT like a cig)
and thumb the button to vape. An ego battery would easily last you all day as
a 1/2 pad smoker, and the ego is the size and shape of a half-corona! :)

The ego-T is the latest innovation and is reportedly easier to fill with juice, and each
tank of juice lasts longer than other types.

Leaking is usually the result of overfilling or using an inadequate amount of filler in the carts. I use cartomizers when I'm away from home and don't have any problems with leaking. I know how many drops I can get into each one, so overfilling isn't an issue. Cartomizers might be a better way for you to go, especially the 2.0ohm Boge or SmokeTek cartos. They're easy to fill and carry, economical to use and easy to maintain.

Of all the different feeding systems for the ego, the tanks are reposted to have the
least problem with leaking. It's new enough that the final verdict is yet to be written.
It would offer the easiest fill without using a syringe (tough to explain to the MP's)

Ego with cartomizers that you could just drip the juice into would be an option
but no cart or carto is totally leakproof, if there is one I haven't heard or
experienced one.

My cartomizers never leaked, my tank doesn't leak either... I'm just saying that I've heard some people complain that the flavor on the tank system isn't very strong. I bought one recently and decided that they're right, I don't get the same flavor or throat hit from it that I get from either a cartomizer or from dripping.

again, IMO.

How about checking out a bottom fed juice mod, such as a Reo. Many threads here about
them and you could fill it up and go all day if needed as their is a bottle of juice inside it.
They also have a mini version as well.
They are the king in my opinion.
If not that, perhaps a Provape. Built like a tank and you could fill a couple of cartomizers
and they should last thru out the day.
And....
Thanks so much for all you do for me and the USA !!!!

My cartomizers never leaked, my tank doesn't leak either...

I never meant to imply either had a major leaking problem, but in this case it's a little different.
White glove inspection clean, is not civilian version of clean. Better forewarned than up against
a UCMJ article 15. Any e-cig option may be problematic in service terms of clean.

Ok coming from a former enlisted man heres what i would do if i was still in. Get the sturdiest mod i could find (chuck form thagbuilt.com) tons of batteries and juice and attomizers and keep it in your bug out bag. Just in case of a deployment. While ciggarettes are easy to get overseas, e-cig parts and juice are not, they can take months or longer to ship. And you will need many batteries for those long walking/driving missions that take days without you being close to electricity. Good luck and keep your head on a swivel.

I rarely recommend mods to new people, but I'm going to this time...kind of.

I'm an Army Vet, so I'm going to suggest that you get anything that will take an 18650 battery. I'm using an Indulgence right now with an 18650/2900mAh battery. I can vape this thing for two days straight and the battery still hasn't fully discharged. I've gone four days on two of them. I'm not suggesting that you get an Indulgence. It's far too shiny to take out on missions. Something like a Chuck, a black Silver Bullet or a ProVari (maybe. You'd have to cover the digital read-out, but that isn't a big deal.) Three or four of those batteries will make sure you're good to go for at least a week! Slap on a LR carto and vape your head off!

Just my suggestions...
