I thought I would share how I went about this. My atomizer was producing no vapor and looked like it had stuffing burnt around it. I pulled it out with tweezers and it turned out to be the nylon that i assume was for wicking the liquid. This was probably not supposed to come out. It was still not working, i then blew into the atomizer and then pinched the sides of the metal piece inside (the bridge?) to get the remaining fibers compacted back underneath. after that it began working again almost as good as new. I dont know if this will help anyone but thought I would share.

What kind of meter are you referring to? I'm currently ghosting the forums in search of an answer to my 510 atomizer issue. It still produces vapor, and most of the time not very lightly. It has no throat hit after the first 2 drags on a fresh cart, the flavor tastes rather burnt, and I've tried the cleaning methods recommended by the manufacturer.

He is referring to an Ohmmeter which checks the resistance of the heating coil in the atomizer. A good atty will read between 2 and 5 ohms of resistance. If you decide to purchase one make sure it reads the lower x1 range of resistance.
