I wasn’t sure where I should post this - so Mods please feel free to move this if it’s in the wrong section.

It’s been a while since was on here, but I have never returned to smoking while away and it’s now some three years and three months since I last fired up any tobacco - and bear in mind I had smoked for over 50 years and that my Avatar “Falconeer” originated from the days I was a Mod on a Pipe Smoking Forum and used to write a lot about Falcon Pipes.

I’m just back in the UK after 4 months in Spain, where I had a smashing time both literally and metaphorically! Spanish houses have marble and tiled floors which are not kind to dropped atomisers, and in the time I was away I managed to write off 2 Nautilus Minis and One Triton Mini.

Vape shops are now hard to find outwith the big Spanish Cities and by the time I was getting ready to return I was down to using one of my Stone Age devices - an original Vivi Nova with its coil at the top and long trailing wicks. Thankfully I’d bought up a few of these some years ago when they were being remaindered and had stashed them in Spain “just in case.”

Stashed away here too, I admit to having emergency stocks comprising 10 GS Airs and what I calculate to be 10 years worth of coils which I laid in when we were unsure what EU restrictions might apply to vaping.

Since I started vaping though, the now old style Nautilus Mini, which was the first “good” tank I ever bought has been my old faithful go to device, coupled with the now sadly discontinued Triton Mini - in my vape rotation at home here I normally run Nautilus Minis Monday to Friday and Triton Minis at the weekend - these fired with iStick 30Ws and the old Kanger K Boxes with their house brick styling, and filled still with 16 strength clear or menthol liquid.

After I broke the last of these in Spain I started lurking here to see what changes had taken place in vaping devices and styles in the intervening years … and was astounded at what is now on offer.

Howandever … after a lot of research online, what have I just ordered this morning?

Two Nautilus Minis and a Triton Mini ( which I was lucky enough to find via an online seller that experience has taught me to trust - so it’s “Back to the Future” for me.”

Apologies for the long post and saying hello to all and thanking those who gave me support, advice, information and help back when I started down Vape Road.

@Falconeer 3 years away must have made your head spin. Things change so fast. But what's that saying, "The more things change, the more they stay the same"?
I would say that there have been a boatload of new products but few really innovative ideas. However, those few have made a difference (for me, anyway). I think you'll always be able to find Nauti coils....still a popular and solid clearomizer.
Welcome back:)

Actually I know what I should have done - taken my metal braced latticed Nautilus with me .... but while I know it is virtually bomb proof somehow I don't have the love for it that I have for my normal glass ones - the mind's a funny thing and as the Bard maybe/probably/ should have said - "The heart loves where it will.

What I will do however is ensure that I have a dripper ( off of a squonker, but which also came with a solid pin; acquired during my brief but expensive flirtation with this esoteric art ) some wire and cotton balls with me when I go back in March - that being machined out of solid steel is about the best backup I can think of.

I'm glad your staying with what has worked. I think many get caught up in these multi battery , cloud chucking devices when they have already successfully kicked the habit. Congrats my friend

Many thanks for your kind words.

I do tend to that school of thought - I am, after all, the man who switched from 60 regular unfiltered Senior Service cigarettes a day in 1974 and took to Falcon pipes and stayed with them until three years ago when I was 65, always filling these with the same rotation of pipe tobaccos!
