I vape 3ml a day easy. this worries me. there are so many more harmful things out there and HC is trying to squash out and/or control the only thing that ever worked for me to quit smoking. they just want to inject/injest unknown chemicals into my body. I don't take flue shots, never have.... and never get sick. they want me to take anti depressants to quit smoking?? ya ok that is a healthy choice

I just want to clarify (again) for everyone - yes, a drag on your PV is definitely a dose. One drag = one dose.

Compare if you will. When you take a pill, that's a dose of whatever's in that pill. It only takes one pill to deliver a dose. A whole bottle full of pills is not a dose: it's a bottle containing many doses.

In the same way, all it takes is one drag on your PV to deliver a dose of nicotine to your system...understand? One drag literally equals one dose to your body. Two drags equals two doses. And so forth.

So I hope that clears up any lingering questions in people's minds. A cartomizer full of e-juice is no more "one dose" than a bottle of pills is "one dose."

---

And as we've already stated earlier (from the government's own website)...nicotine is not prohibited by or controlled by Schedule F in any way when it is "in a form to be administered orally by means of an inhalation device delivering 4 mg or less of nicotine per dosage unit." None of us are getting anywhere remotely near 4mg of nicotine from a drag on our PV's.

Law is on our side in this case folks...and when Health Canada says that the nic in our e-juice is covered by Schedule F, they are flat-out lying. They're gonna look so damn stupid when we bring the class-action suit against them.

At the end of the day we can argue what the law says and how it applies but if HC WANTS to do something they do it. Its as simple as that, and until they are challenged on that fact, just like the FDA was in the states for blocking imports then they will continue to pursue the usage of their power.

I posted this in another forum but I will post it here too for those who read this post only.

All nicotine products on the market are sold in "multiple doses". A cigarette has 1 - 2 mg of nicotine per cig (it's not possible to accurately measure how much nic each cig gives to every individual user because everyone smokes differently). So you purchase a pack - you are purchasing 25mg to 50mg of 25 "doses" of nicotine.

The patch, inhaler and gum are also sold in multiple doses.

All these, however, have market authorization. HC is withholding market authorization (actually they withdrew it) on eliquid and ecigs. That is where the matter gets a bit sticky. They are claiming liquid violates a law - to the uninformed. But in truth, it only lacks market authorization. HC further refuses to permit ecig companies to gain market authorization unless they stop selling nicotine - regardless of legal doses.

So it is a political issue - more than a legal issue - but they are using their legal authority to enforce their political issue.
In a democracy - that should be a problem. Because ecigs are still rather invisible though - they are getting away with it.

Hope that clarifies some of the legal issues

I agree Jim, but what can they do thats any different then what they are doing already? They already banned nicotine juice, they stop packages at the border, they seize shipments. Are they going to start opening every package at customs? I dont think so. its an idle threat. hc is like the school bully who everyone was scare of until he got his .... kicked.

actually its not a threat, it was a polite please stop selling nicotine letter.

Agreed Jimi. That's why we're going to pursue the class-action suit against Health Canada ASAP. The law is on our side, completely. They wanted a fight? They have one. We'll win.

We have the numbers, but do we have the willing people? Do people think this is a fight not worth fighting? do they feel its a hopeless cause? I bet alot do.

The suit can be initiated by anyone, Ian. It only takes one person to get it started. Once we have the legal team in place, we'll proceed from there.

so lets do it

We will! First thing tomorrow we begin talking with the lawyers. The time for passively hemming & hawing on the forum is over. The time for debating in a vacuum is over. Anyone who wants to leave it at that is free to do so. But we're not going to. We won't rest until we've found a good legal team willing to take us on pro bono & file the class-action suit against Health Canada.

The law is very clearly on our side; Health Canada is lying (& we can prove it); & their strategy of factually misclassifiying e-cigs & e-juice will royally fail as well.

The battle is on. We'll win it.

start off with your local university law dept. it would be a great "project" in curriculam for students to do research. with all the crap work done beforehand, an actual lawyer could step in with a ton of ground work done for them to take over. win win. it wouls also show some serious effort being put in

count me in for everything i can afford (time and a bit of money)... vaping has saved my life... if i had continued to smoke... emphezema and COPD would have almost assuredly killed me within 15 years... i was already on 100.00 a months worth of inhalers (at 20% of actual cost... you do the math!!)

We are going all in, I am so mad right now I could spit. My favourite all day vape is gone now. Vapables and JC carried it. I will fight this tooth and nail. I cant say anymore without swearing like a sailor.

Thank you guys, all of you, for the encouragement & support.

And thanks for your patience while we talk with the lawyers & get a team in place to initiate the suit. Things are happening, & as soon as we have noteworthy progress to report...we'll let you know.

Keep on vaping!!
