I have been mulling over that and what could be done differently. May have to go with the S wire if my idea does not work, but it should :)

Dan

I like the idea of getting rid of the S wire as well as making it wider.....the coil and that wire appear to be the only two issues anyone is having with it.

I have been fortunate...no trouble with the wire and finally got the wick right.

I just measured the part of my type B cartridges that insert into the atomizer. The actual length is 18mm, the width is 13.5mm (the upper part of the cartridge that meets the top of the atty, but doesn't go into it, is 14mm). The total length is 44mm, but I don't think you are looking for the total cartridge length. If it would help in any way, I could send you one.

Perfect exactly what I needed!
I will rework that piece.

@UA72Riddle, I agree I will work on getting a solution that does not use the S wire, also I would really like to go to a 3/4"OD over a 5/8"OD That means more room for the coil and a larger resivoir.
Anyone else disagree? Since I am going with a complete reconstruction I am not sure if I need the permission, since DSU #3 used the exact same concept. But I like the SS construction for this over the poly tubing. Thinking of calling it DSUv3SS :) if I go with a larger dia, and completely change the connection point.
Ideas/comments?

Even .875" wouldn't hurt my feelings... The larger surface area to work in makes it all the easier to get things done with the maintenance. Besides the ability to put in a larger post for the resisitance wire.

I threw my s wire away the first day. Notch a plumbing washer, fit it in. Put little peice of rubber in center. Cut off a ce2 post, put batt end in center. Screw down and light up.

Yeah, the "S" wire could be a PITA sometimes. I have full confidence in you for a solution (just used up my quota of ...-kissing for today ). I think 3/4"OD is great. Not too big. I could definitely use a lil' more room since I have fat fingers :). As far as permission, I think it's a nice courtesy gesture to ask a fellow modder but with that being said, I do think that there is more than 50% difference with the T-tank adapter.

Go for it Dan! I use big battery mods so 3/4" wouldn't bother me!

My thoughts. 6mm OD. SS, sealed unit except for spike plate for liquid resivor for the mesh.no screws /s wire.it will be all laser evaporated. With nano bots to service the laser. Dan.you can do it.
Oh and so you guys can't say it.
I know.I'm a ...... But it'd work....
Edit: sorry to who ever edited that word. I didnt think it was bad.

Need some help from the scuba experts. I got my V3 in today, filled it with juice and I cant seem to get it to vape good. Very poor vapor production. The wire is wrapped 5 times (3ohms I think) and doesnt short out on the SS wick. Before I put the juice in it was glowing evenly. I got the wick nice and wet and it still doesnt produce enough vapor. Feels very airy. Am I doing something wrong?

What voltage are you trying to vape at?

Im using it on my VV mod. Doesnt matter what voltage I put it at, very low vapor production. Changing to voltage only changes the throat hit and flavor.

If the coil is continuing to glow red while firing it up then you probably are not getting any wicking up to the coil. It could be that the wick is kinked. Also if you have a multimeter take the voltage as it pass between the posts. If there is a voltage drop it could be that you need to carbon up the coiled area of the wick a bit more. Also make sure the coils are not touching against each other.

One other thing that I have noted is if the viscosity of your juice is thick it will reduce the wicking. In one of my juices I thinned it by an additional 5% and it made quite a difference.

Dan,

All I can say is...wow. I am in absolute awe of you. How do you find the time to do all of this! Wife, kids, career in IT, you turn out mods with blinding speed and you looking at running not one, but two new co-ops. Add to that you are doing all of it without profit.

I tip my hat to you Dan, if it weren't so cheesy I would recommend you change your name to "SuperBatDan".

Keep up the good work man :)

To everyone else reading this...

We should seriously put together a collection to make a donation to the scubabatdan fund for all he's done and continues to do for those of us enjoying your mods.
