Dan, how much longer is the outer cap of the XL over than the normal version? I'm thinking maybe they can both just use the XL outer cap?

Here's another idea. Instead of the XL outer tube, we'll have a threaded ring as a spacer for the normal version to extend it longer. I got the idea from the Provari Power 2500 battery spacer.

For example, if the XL outer tube is 0.393" longer, we'll have a threaded spacer for 0.393" long. So, to use the bigger 4.5ml XL tank, we'll screw on the spacer first and then screw on the normal version outer tube and it will be extended to an XL. I'm not sure if it means that we'll need more threading. What do you think?

hehe i said that too lol http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/194934-scubagen-mods-50.html#post4166119 only extra threading would be on the extension it could be any length or use multiples and cut the inside tank to fit (using the syringe that is)

Excellent Idea, I remember reading that, but thread was moving so fast I had forgot to add that in, would cut about 5 bucks off the price. Will work on that, would be a 1cm extension piece, so only one cover would be needed to be turned. So it would be one top piece, two tanks (3ml and 5ml), and one extension.

I am re-doing the drawings of the top cap for the SGV3 to turn it into a gooey-candy-bear tank cap. Any input on what would be good dimensions for the inside hole.

right now I have it at 9.2mm for a 510 carto with two o-ring grooves that are 1.575mm wide and 1.194 mm deep.

Well if you had called it something else I could answer you but I am still under a gag order here on the forum. but I guess I could say that 2 "O" ring is a bit over kill.

Does that help???

edit: just read my post and it doesn't sound like what I meant. I edited my previous post.
I hate when you post something and it comes out sounding like a sarcastic comment and it totally wasn't what you where trying to say.

I would recommend a 10mm hole, with 12mm o-ring groove, using 12mm x 9mm x1.5mm thick orings This is perfect for 510 cartos, here is the o-ring I would use:
Approved Vendor 1RHP1 O-Ring, Viton, 9mm ID x 12mm OD, PK25

Hope this helps.

AKK... I have my monitor die and can't get online for a few days and look what happens...

@ DAN Glad you are OK...guess you need to slow down just a little bit huh...remind the daughters not to bring any new "badboy" boyfriends home for a bit lest it happen again...lol

@ Bsted ooh hope that goes Coop it looks like a great Idea a "dual purpose design" I hope...

on a side note anyone w an old laptop (circa P1 or so) can scavenge the internal power pack for a passthru power supply with some of the more robust regs...I just started making one...can't do much else...cant walk well I twisted my ankle crawling around in my attic repairing wiring...so I'm stuck in front of my modding table pretty much...at least for the next week...

and yea I'm still on the same monitor...after I wrecked my ankle I sat for 4 hrs replacing caps...it works now but its not happy with me...if I turn it off I have to unplug it for a day to get it to work...gonna have to get another one:facepalm:

LOL Wish I'd have known. I threw out a 20" Flat Panel monitor last week because it had a single 1 pixel wide blue line down the middle.
